Directed by Emma Tammi and written by Scott Cawthon, the creator of the original video game series, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 continues the story from the first movie.
Hutcherson reprises his role as former security guard Mike, while Lillard returns as the villainous William Afton. Theodus Crane also returns as Jeremiah, and new cast members include Freddy Carter, Wayne Knight, Mckenna Grace, and Skeet Ulrich.
The official summary of the film reads: “One year has passed since the supernatural nightmare at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The stories about what transpired there have been twisted into a campy local legend, inspiring the town’s first-ever Fazfest. Former security guard Mike and police officer Vanessa have kept the truth from Mike’s 11-year-old sister, Abby, concerning the fate of her animatronic friends.”
“But when Abby sneaks out to reconnect with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, it will set into motion a terrifying series of events, revealing dark secrets about the true origin of Freddy’s, and unleashing a long-forgotten horror hidden away for decades.”
Rated PG-13, the film promises a mix of horror and suspense, staying true to the chilling tone of the original video game series. The first Five Nights at Freddy’s film opened in theaters on November 5, 2023, and quickly became a hit with fans of the franchise.
Fans looking to watch the sequel at home can stream it starting Tuesday on Prime Video and other premium video on demand platforms.
