[First Look] Steven Seagal Lists Moscow Mansion at Jaw-Dropping Price — Hollywood Action Star Turned Putin Ally Raises Eyebrows
The transition from Hollywood action hero to Kremlin loyalist has taken a peculiar turn as Steven Seagal attempts to unload his Moscow real estate for a staggering profit. The “Under Siege” star has officially listed his luxury mansion in Russia’s ultra-elite Rublyovka suburb, but the eye-watering price tag is raising more eyebrows than the home’s gilded interior.
The 73-year-old actor is reportedly asking for £6.6 million for the property, a figure that critics and real estate experts claim is nearly seven times its actual market value. The two-story residence was purchased by Seagal in 2018, shortly after he was appointed as a special representative for the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The mansion spans 5,382 square feet and is located just over a mile from Vladimir Putin’s high-security Novo-Ogaryovo palace. Inside, the decor is a testament to Seagal’s affinity for opulence, featuring gold-trimmed pillars, gold curtains, and shiny gold side drawers.
The home includes three bedrooms and three bathrooms, a wine room, a private cinema, and a study that bizarrely features a treadmill positioned in the middle of the floor. The cinema room, designed to seat ten people, is particularly striking, with the screen itself lined in golden trim to match the rest of the house.
Despite the “global history” marketed by consultants, local experts believe the price is fueled entirely by ego. Estate agent Natalia Pereskokova noted that the price looks image-driven rather than market-based and predicted that the final sale would be the subject of serious negotiations.
Pereskokova valued the property at just £950,000, which is the same price Seagal reportedly paid for it originally. The massive gap in valuation is blamed on the battered Russian economy and a shrinking demand for luxury estates amidst ongoing international sanctions and the wartime atmosphere in Moscow.
While he attempts to sell his Russian bolthole, Seagal’s career as a Western entertainer has largely stalled. Since receiving Russian citizenship personally from Putin in 2016, he has become a fixture of pro-war state media and joined the pro-Putin political party “A Just Russia — For Truth” in 2021.
However, the actor has not entirely abandoned the film industry as of early 2026. He starred in an independent action film titled “Beyond the Law,” which was reportedly filmed in various locations across Eastern Europe and Asia.
Seagal has also continued to promote his Aikido centers in Moscow, where he frequently gives masterclasses to Russian youth, further cementing his role as a cultural ambassador for his adopted home.
The sudden listing of the Rublyovka mansion has sparked rumors about Seagal’s future plans. It remains unclear if the actor intends to move deeper into the Russian interior or if he is contemplating a return to a neutral territory, though a return to the United States seems unlikely given his political standing.
The grounds of the mansion also include a guest house equipped with a sauna and bath complex, alongside a barbecue gazebo. For a property sitting on nearly half an acre in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the world, the listing remains a curiosity for those tracking the actor’s bizarre second act.
As the Russian real estate market continues to struggle, the sale of Seagal’s gilded sanctuary will likely serve as a barometer for how much a celebrity name is truly worth in Moscow today. For now, the “bootlicker” mansion remains a shiny, gold-leafed reminder of the actor’s controversial transition into the Kremlin’s inner circle.
Do you think Steven Seagal’s mansion is a unique piece of cinematic history worth the millions, or is the actor simply out of touch with the reality of the current Russian economy? Please share your thoughts in the comments.
