Kate Hudson is making it clear that when a relationship isn’t working, she doesn’t waste time trying to fix it. The 46-year-old actress spoke to SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show in Los Angeles on February 24 about her straightforward approach to breakups.

Hudson explained that she doesn’t beg for second chances or spend weeks analyzing why a relationship failed. “If a guy says they don’t want it, they’re not into it — I’m out,” she told Stern, adding that she never asks for a long conversation to dissect the situation.

She shared a story from a past breakup where her partner told her he couldn’t continue the relationship. Hudson simply said, “Okay,” which seemed to surprise him. When he asked if she wanted to talk about it, she replied, “No. Not really,” explaining that once a relationship is over, there’s no point in revisiting it.

“Now you want to connect with me about us not being together? No. We’re done connecting,” she added, emphasizing that she moves on quickly. Despite past heartbreaks, Hudson has found stability with her fiancé, Danny Fujikawa, whom she has been with since 2016.

The couple shares a daughter, Rani Rose, and was recently seen together at pre-BAFTA events in London. Although engaged since 2021, Hudson has joked that she isn’t rushing the wedding, noting that planning it is more stressful than she expected.

Professionally, Hudson is at a high point thanks to her role in the musical drama Song Sung Blue. The film, which hit theaters this year, stars Hudson alongside Hugh Jackman as a married couple forming a Neil Diamond tribute band.

Her performance as Claire Sardina has earned her major recognition, including a second Academy Award nomination for Best Actress and nods from the Golden Globes, SAG, and BAFTA. Hudson also recently appeared in a promotional video for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, performing a soulful rendition of California Dreamin’.

Fans can look forward to seeing her in the second season of the Netflix comedy series Running Point, which is currently in post-production. Alongside her acting and music projects, Hudson continues to host her popular podcast Sibling Revelry, balancing family life and professional growth.

Her focus on her own life, career, and family shows that she prioritizes her own well-being over dwelling on past relationships. Kate Hudson’s candid discussion about breakups shows she values clarity and moving on quickly, letting go of situations that no longer serve her.
