Timothée Chalamet Gets a Fun Reminder From Homeland Stars Claire Danes and Damian Lewis
The Actor Awards on Sunday night had a fun throwback moment when Claire Danes and Damian Lewis reunited and reminded everyone how they helped launch one of Hollywood’s biggest stars.
The former Homeland co-stars came to the Shrine Auditorium to present the award for Best Ensemble in a Drama Series, but they couldn’t resist reminiscing about their own show’s past.
Holding hands as they approached the microphone, they told the audience that Timothée Chalamet, now a 30-year-old Oscar frontrunner, got his start as a teenager on the second season of Homeland.
During the presentation, Lewis teased Danes about whether the show had ever won an ensemble award. “No, no, it did not,” she replied, joking that they were back for a rematch. Lewis added a playful jab at shows that beat them before, like Downton Abbey and Breaking Bad, then turned to Chalamet in the audience.
Danes saved her best line for the Dune star: “We even had Timothée Chalamet on our show. Where do you think he learned how to handle the stress of a Safdie movie?” Lewis then added, “We made you, Timothée. Just saying. And we’re ready for a recount.”

It was a full-circle moment for Chalamet, who later took the stage with his ensemble cast to introduce their film Marty Supreme. Long before leading billion-dollar franchises, he played Finn Walden, the Vice President’s son and a tragic love interest, in a 2012 arc on Homeland.
The following year, he even shared in the show’s ensemble nomination, though the trophy went to the Crawley family of Downton Abbey. Now, Chalamet is at the top of his game. His new film, Marty Supreme, directed by Josh Safdie, has been a huge success, earning him a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Comedy and putting him in a strong position for the Oscars on March 15.
The rest of the year is busy for him, too. He’s set to return for Dune: Part Three in December, reprising his role as Paul Atreides alongside Zendaya and Florence Pugh, with Robert Pattinson joining in a major role. He’s also developing a thriller called High Side with director James Mangold, playing a former MotoGP racer.
Chalamet has even moved into producing, earning a Best Picture nomination this year for Marty Supreme. From his early days at the Walden dinner table to blockbuster finales and indie hits, he’s come a long way—but his Homeland family clearly isn’t letting him forget where it all started.
