Megan Fox once said that one moment early in her career became the lowest point of her time in Hollywood. The actress spoke about it years later while reflecting on what happened after her public comments about director Michael Bay.

Back in 2009, Fox was one of the biggest young stars in the industry. She had gained worldwide fame from the Transformers series and was expected to return for the third film, Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

At the time, she gave an interview about her experience working on the movies, and her comments quickly caused controversy. During that conversation, Fox spoke about Bay’s style on set and compared his behavior to that of a dictator.

“He wants to create this insane, infamous madman reputation. He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is.” The comment spread quickly in the media and created backlash from people connected to the production.

Soon after the interview, Fox was removed from the franchise. The role was later filled by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who appeared in the third movie. Years later, Fox talked about the situation in an interview with Cosmopolitan. She said the experience was very difficult but also an important lesson for her.

“That was absolutely the low point of my career.” She explained that she was young and stubborn at the time and did not want to apologize. “But without ‘that thing’, I wouldn’t have learned as quickly as I did.”

Looking back, Fox admitted that she believed strongly in her stance when she was younger. “I really thought I was Joan of Arc.” Over time, she said she realized the situation taught her how the industry works and how quickly things can change.

Even though she missed out on another huge blockbuster, that same year she appeared in the horror comedy Jennifer’s Body. The movie was written by Diablo Cody. When it first came out, the film received mixed reviews and did not perform strongly at the box office.

However, in later years, many fans and critics started to see it differently, and the movie developed a strong cult following. After spending some time working on smaller projects, Fox returned to mainstream blockbusters in 2014.

She played April O’Neil in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which helped bring her back into the spotlight. Since then, she has continued working in different types of roles. In recent years, she appeared in the thriller Subservience.

She also joined the popular horror franchise by voicing Toy Chica in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. Fox’s personal life has also drawn attention in the media. She has had a widely discussed relationship with musician Machine Gun Kelly.

After taking a break from social media for a while, she returned online in March with several posts that quickly went viral. Kelly even replied with a playful comment, which got fans talking again.

The two are now focused on raising their daughter Saga Blade, who was born in March 2025. Despite the ups and downs in their relationship, they appear to be on good terms as they co-parent.

Fox has also said she is interested in joining the new DC Universe if the opportunity appears. In particular, she has mentioned that she would love to play the character Poison Ivy. While no casting decisions have been announced, many fans online have supported the idea.

With new projects and continued interest from audiences, Fox’s career has slowly been rebuilt over the years. The moment she once called her lowest point has now become just one chapter in a long and evolving career in Hollywood.
