The Stranger Things actor recently took a playful jab at Hollywood’s current “it boy,” Timothée Chalamet, in a hilarious Instagram parody that has fans talking. In the video, Matarazzo teamed up with The Goldbergs star Sean Giambrone to promote their new comedy, Pizza Movie.

The clip, shot at a park picnic table, is a clear imitation of a viral promo Chalamet made last year for his film Marty Supreme. Matarazzo and Giambrone’s exaggerated antics make the parody instantly recognizable and extremely funny.

The sketch opens with Matarazzo shouting the release details of Pizza Movie with over-the-top theatrical energy. “Pizza Movie is an American film. It comes out on April 3, 2026,” he yells, while Giambrone jumps in to clarify that the movie will skip traditional theaters.

“It’s on Hulu, streaming! It’s not in theaters, we wanted it to be in theaters, but they said ‘No!’” he adds, keeping pace with Matarazzo’s loud and energetic delivery. The camera zooms in, making every dramatic gesture and shout even funnier. The duo saves their sharpest joke for the end of the clip, taking a friendly dig at Chalamet’s recent remarks about ballet and opera.

In unison, they scream, “By the way, we want to be clear that we love the ballet and the opera!” This directly references comments Chalamet made during a town hall in March, when he suggested that “no one really cares” about these classical art forms—a statement that drew criticism from the dance and music communities.

Even though the parody is clearly in good fun, it has already put Pizza Movie in the cultural spotlight just days before its official release. Directed by the former Saturday Night Live writing duo BriTANicK, the film follows Matarazzo and Giambrone as two college roommates who take an experimental drug that sends them on a wild, surreal quest for a single slice of pizza.

The movie premiered at the SXSW Film Festival earlier this month and has received praise for its fast-paced, absurd humor and the clear chemistry between its two stars. Pizza Movie is set to stream on Hulu and Disney+ starting April 3. The film marks an important step for both Matarazzo and Giambrone as they move beyond the child-star roles that made them famous.
