Ryan Reynolds has shared a new update about the future of Deadpool, and it may not be what fans expect.

After the massive success of Deadpool & Wolverine, many assumed another solo movie would be on the way. The film earned over $1.3 billion at the box office, making it one of Marvel’s biggest hits in recent years. Even with that success, there is still no official plan for the next Deadpool project.

Reports from The Hollywood Reporter say Reynolds has been thinking about a different direction. Instead of focusing on a single character story, he has been working on an idea that could include several members of the X-Men. This idea is still in early stages, and he has not formally presented it to Marvel.

Speaking in an interview with Today, Reynolds explained how his thinking has changed. “I have some stuff written,” he said, “but I don’t think I’m ever going to center him again. He’s a supporting character, he’s a guy that is great in a group.”

This suggests that future appearances of Deadpool may happen in team-based stories rather than standalone films. Reynolds has mentioned before that he likes the idea of Deadpool joining groups like the Avengers or the X-Men. At the same time, he has concerns that putting the character into a standard team role could take away what makes him unique.

For now, nothing is confirmed about where Deadpool will appear next. He is not expected to show up in Avengers: Doomsday, which is rumored to have a more serious tone. There is also no clear link between Deadpool and Marvel’s planned X-Men reboot, which is said to focus on a younger cast.

The future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is also changing. Avengers: Secret Wars is expected to reshape the franchise. Marvel has said it will act as a kind of reset, allowing new versions of characters to appear alongside existing ones.

Right now, Deadpool’s future is still open. But based on Reynolds’ comments, it looks like fans may need to get used to seeing him as part of a team rather than leading his own movie.

This could be a risky move. Deadpool became popular because he stands out and breaks the rules. Putting him into a group could either make him more fun or take away what makes him special. It really depends on how Marvel handles it. What do you think about this change? Do you prefer solo Deadpool movies or seeing him in a team? Share your thoughts in the comments.
