‘Euphoria’ Star Sydney Sweeney Reveals She Almost Had a Breast Reduction in High School
Sydney Sweeney has spoken openly about struggling with body image during her teenage years and how she once considered changing her appearance before deciding against it.
In an interview with Glamour UK published on Thursday, the 28-year-old actress said she used to feel uncomfortable about her body in high school and even planned to have a breast reduction when she turned 18.
She explained her earlier mindset, saying, “Flaunt what you got. Own it. Love them. When I was in high school, I used to feel uncomfortable about how big my boobs were and I used to say that when I turned 18, I was going to get a boob job to make them smaller.”
Sweeney revealed that her mother stepped in and stopped her from going through with the idea. According to Sweeney, her mother told her, “Don’t do it. You’ll regret it in college.” Looking back, she said she is grateful for that advice and does not regret the decision to stay as she is.
She added that her confidence has changed over time and that self-acceptance plays a big role in how she feels today. “And I’m so glad I didn’t. I like them. They’re my best friends. Everybody’s body is beautiful. When you are confident and you’re happy within is when it really shows to other people,” she said.
Sweeney also addressed public perception about her image and the assumptions people often make about her. “The biggest misconception about me is that I’m a dumb blonde with big tits,” she said.
The actress is widely known for her roles in Euphoria, The White Lotus, and The Handmaid’s Tale. In recent years, she has also expanded her career into business, launching her lingerie brand SYRN in early 2026. The brand focuses on comfort and inclusivity, inspired by her own difficulties finding well-fitting bras for a larger bust.
Sweeney’s comments add to her ongoing public discussion about body confidence, self-image, and how she has learned to navigate attention in Hollywood.
