Tom Hardy is facing growing attention over his reported behavior on the set of MobLand, the Paramount+ crime drama starring Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren.

According to a source cited by The Hollywood Reporter, tensions behind the scenes during the show’s second season have raised concerns among producers and could even affect Hardy’s future involvement if the series moves forward.

The report claims that Hardy was recently “refused to come out” of his trailer during production, leaving cast and crew waiting for long periods. One production source described the situation bluntly, saying, “He kept the cast waiting,” and adding that leaving major co-stars like Brosnan and Mirren on hold was seen as a serious issue on set.

MobLand, which is co-directed by Guy Ritchie, follows a London-based crime family led by Conrad Harrigan (Pierce Brosnan) and Maeve Harrigan (Helen Mirren). Hardy plays Harry Da Souza, a fixer working within the violent and political world of the Harrigan family. The series also features a large ensemble cast including Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Jasmine Jobson, Mandeep Dhillon, Geoff Bell, Daniel Betts, Janet McTeer, Jordi Mollà, and Toby Jones.

The situation comes at a time when the future of the series is still uncertain. According to The Hollywood Reporter, MobLand has not yet been officially renewed for a third season. However, early planning suggests that if it does move forward, filming could begin later this year.

The source also told The Hollywood Reporter that Hardy’s conduct on set has “spooked producers,” with internal discussions now taking place about how to handle his role going forward. The same report suggests that disagreements during production may have included creative tensions as well, such as script notes and dialogue changes being raised by Hardy during filming.

Another insider quoted in the report described the situation as damaging, saying, “Keeping Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren and others waiting is career suicide, I would wager.” The comment reflects the level of concern some on production have expressed about the disruption caused during filming.

This is not the first time Hardy’s on-set behavior has been discussed in the industry. The report also references past comments from filmmakers and actors who have described him as intense and sometimes difficult during production. While opinions vary, the pattern of stories has contributed to ongoing speculation about his working relationships on large productions.

As of now, neither Tom Hardy nor representatives for Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren have publicly commented on the situation. Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios have also not issued a statement regarding the claims.

MobLand remains one of Paramount+’s high-profile crime dramas, with strong names attached both in front of and behind the camera. But with production tensions now making headlines, the show’s next steps appear less certain, especially as decisions about a possible third season have yet to be finalized.
