Did ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Trailer #2 Just Leak? Fans Are Losing It
A rumored leak tied to Spider-Man: Brand New Day is making waves online after footage that is claimed to be from the film’s second trailer surfaced on social media. While fans are already picking apart every detail, there is still no confirmation that the audio is genuine.
The alleged trailer audio was shared online by X user Josh (@joshlovesfilms) on June 7. The clip quickly spread across social media platforms, with many fans debating whether it is actually from Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man movie or another well-made fan creation. But this post was quickly removed.
In recent years, fake leaks have become much more common thanks to advances in artificial intelligence.
Still, some fans think that the footage is convincing. The recording reportedly includes background distortion that resembles audio captured from a video playing on a computer screen. The music, sound effects, and character dialogue have also led some fans to think the clip could be legitimate.
It appears to reveal several story details from Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Peter Parker is heard narrating parts of the trailer, while Sadie Sink’s still-unconfirmed character also appears to have dialogue. The clip reportedly features exchanges involving Frank Castle, also known as the Punisher, as well as multiple Hulk roars that hint at a major role for Bruce Banner’s alter ego.
One of the biggest talking points from the leaked audio is a conversation between Peter Parker and Bruce Banner. According to a transcription shared by Spidey Source, the exchange goes as follows:
“Peter: Dr. Banner, you figured out a way to suppress mutating DNA right?”
“Banner: If you see me without this, run!”
“Peter: Theoretically, could you get rid of the bad aspects, but keep the good?”
“Banner: How would you decide what parts of nature are good or bad.”
The conversation suggests that Peter is searching for a way to control or possibly reverse parts of his mutation while keeping the abilities that make him Spider-Man. It also hints that Banner’s device for controlling the Hulk could become an important part of the story.
Fans have also connected the dialogue to previously leaked set photos that reportedly showed Bruce Banner on a stretcher. If those images and the trailer audio are both authentic, the film may feature a situation where Banner loses control of the Hulk, creating major problems for Spider-Man and everyone around him.
Beyond Spider-Man’s personal struggles, the dialogue may also point toward larger plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The discussion about mutations could help set the stage for the arrival of mutants in the MCU. Some fans continue to speculate that Sadie Sink could be playing Jean Grey, although Marvel and Sony have not confirmed her role.
Reports have previously suggested that the second trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to arrive on June 17. If the leaked audio turns out to be real, it remains to be seen whether Sony decides to release the trailer earlier than planned.
