A new One Piece game is on the way, and this time it is not about fighting pirates or sailing the Grand Line. Instead, fans will get to run a restaurant in the world of One Piece in a new cooking and management game called One Piece: Grand Gourmet.

The game was officially revealed during a Nintendo Direct presentation, according to information shared by the event. It introduces a very different kind of adventure for the Straw Hat universe, focusing on food, cooking, and restaurant management inside the One Piece world.

In One Piece: Grand Gourmet, players take on the role of a new staff member working at the second branch of the famous floating restaurant Baratie. The goal is to help turn it into the most successful restaurant on the seas, with help from Sanji and other members of the Straw Hat Crew.

The gameplay is built around cooking and creativity. Players will collect ingredients, come up with recipes, and prepare meals inspired by the One Piece universe. The game also includes special dishes based on characters and iconic items from the series. One example mentioned is Water-Water Meat BBQ, along with Sea King Penne Gorgonzola, and even dishes inspired by Devil Fruit powers.

Customization also plays a big role in the game. Players will be able to decorate and design their restaurant using more than 200 different furniture and decoration items. These range from dessert-themed designs inspired by Whole Cake Island to futuristic styles based on Egghead Island. The game also adds a social element, where characters may become regular customers depending on how well the restaurant is designed.

One of the biggest highlights is the large character roster. According to the announcement, more than 400 characters from the One Piece universe will appear in the game. This includes members of the Straw Hat Crew and many other familiar faces. All of them appear in a pixel-style design, bringing a retro visual feel to the game while still staying true to the original characters.

The developers say the game is not only about cooking but also about interaction and discovery. Players will experience character events and special moments that are unique to this game, giving fans new ways to see familiar characters outside of the main story.

The game also encourages exploration and recipe discovery. As players progress, they will unlock new ingredients and create more complex dishes, expanding their menu and improving their restaurant’s reputation across the seas.

One Piece: Grand Gourmet is scheduled to release on October 23. It will be available on Nintendo Switch, the upcoming Switch 2, and PC via Steam. The release will give fans of the long-running anime and manga a completely different way to experience the world of One Piece, this time through food instead of battles.
