Fox’s highly anticipated ‘Baywatch‘ reboot has been generating buzz since the moment its cast was announced, and the stars of the upcoming series have been making headlines both on the beach and off it. The revival has assembled a mix of seasoned performers and fresh faces, blending social media popularity with acting credentials in a way that feels very much designed for the current entertainment moment. With filming well underway in Los Angeles, the show’s two newest leading ladies are giving fans something to watch even before the cameras start rolling.

The 12-episode series, picked up by Fox for the 2026-2027 television season, is co-produced by Fox Entertainment and Fremantle, with Matt Nix serving as showrunner and McG directing the premiere episode. The cast is led by Stephen Amell, who plays Hobie Buchannon, son of the original show’s legendary Mitch Buchannon, alongside an ensemble that includes Shay Mitchell, Brooks Nader, Noah Beck, Hassie Harrison, and original cast member David Chokachi reprising his role. It is a lineup built to generate conversation, and so far it has done exactly that.

At the center of much of that conversation are two of the reboot’s newest faces. Livvy Dunne and Jessica Belkin stepped out for a night at Chateau Marmont while taking a break from filming, showing off their lifeguard-fit physiques well outside of the iconic red swimsuits. Dunne is set to play Grace on the show, while Belkin stars as Charlie, and the reboot is scheduled to debut in January 2027.

Dunne, who was tapped for the recurring role of Grace, described as a highly enthusiastic junior lifeguard, marks the professional acting debut of the former Louisiana State University gymnast, who revealed she had been taking acting lessons and planned to pursue a film and TV career after retiring from the sport in April 2025.

On ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, Dunne revealed that her path to ‘Baywatch’ was not without early setbacks, sharing that her very first audition was actually for ‘White Lotus’, a role she did not land before submitting a self-tape for the lifeguard drama and receiving a callback.

Dunne had spoken candidly about her passion for the craft in an interview with People, saying, “It’s something I’ve been passionate about for quite some time. I was interested in doing that at LSU, but sports are your top priority when you’re a student-athlete at school. And now that I’m done with school, I have more time to lean into the acting stuff and the creative side of things.”

Belkin, meanwhile, plays Charlie Vale, described as someone who leaves a complicated home life in Texas and shows up on her father Hobie’s doorstep hoping to become a Baywatch lifeguard. With production actively underway, recent behind-the-scenes images of both women on set showed their costumes featuring classic lifeguard-style design elements, echoing the franchise’s traditional visual identity while updated for a modern audience.

TMZ also noted there is some tension brewing on set, with Dunne and co-star Brooks Nader reportedly competing to become the franchise’s next breakout icon in the tradition of Pamela Anderson. Whether that translates to compelling on-screen chemistry or genuine rivalry, it adds another layer of intrigue to an already buzzy production. With the premiere still months away, every off-set sighting is keeping audiences engaged, and interest in who will define this new chapter of the franchise only seems to be growing. Who do you think has what it takes to become ‘Baywatch’s’ next iconic face, Livvy Dunne or Brooks Nader?
