Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be the fourth Spider-Man movie connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, with a screenplay from Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers, and Justin Kuritzkes.
The movie will also feature a returning cast and several new faces, including Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo.
The story will follow Peter Parker as he continues protecting New York City as Spider-Man while facing a new threat. The film is expected to explore a different side of the character, with the creative team wanting to show Peter as a more independent hero.
Production on the movie has been in development for several years. Sony began working on a fourth MCU Spider-Man project after the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, and producer Amy Pascal previously said the plan was to continue Holland’s version of the character with a new trilogy.
Director Destin Daniel Cretton joined the project in 2024, while the title Spider-Man: Brand New Day was officially revealed in 2025. The name comes from the famous 2008 Marvel comic storyline that changed Spider-Man’s status quo.
Filming took place in locations across the United Kingdom, including Glasgow and several areas in England, with additional work completed at Pinewood Studios.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 31, as part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
