Prime Video has shared two major updates for fans of Invincible. The hit animated superhero series has officially been renewed for a sixth season, and star Jack Quaid is set to take on an additional role in the show’s growing universe.

The announcements were made during Prime Video’s first-ever panel at the Annecy International Animation Festival. During the event, Invincible executive producer and co-showrunner Robert Kirkman revealed that Quaid will voice a new character named Gravitator, also known as Chris, in the upcoming fifth season.

Quaid is already well known to fans as the voice of Mark Grayson, the series’ main hero. His addition to the cast in a second role marks another interesting development for the animated adaptation, which continues to expand its roster of characters from the original comic books.

Alongside the casting news, Kirkman and Prime Video’s head of animation Melissa Wolfe confirmed that Invincible has already secured a sixth season. The announcement comes before Season 5 has even premiered, showing the confidence Prime Video has in the series and its future.

The early renewal also makes Invincible the longest-running animated original series on Prime Video so far. The superhero drama has become one of the platform’s biggest successes since its debut, earning praise from both critics and audiences for its mature storytelling, action sequences, and faithful adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s comic series.

The Invincible announcements were part of a larger presentation focused on Prime Video’s growing animation lineup. The panel also included updates on several other projects currently in development or preparing to return with new seasons.

The Legend of Vox Machina executive producer Sam Riegel presented new footage from the upcoming fourth season of the fantasy series. Attendees were shown a clip featuring Pike’s confrontation with The Whispered One, also known as Gideon. Riegel also shared an early look at Season 2 of The Mighty Nein, which follows the group as they become involved in a battle to defend Nicodranas during a goblin attack.

Elsewhere during the presentation, Helluva Boss creator and executive producer Vivienne Medrano revealed that the first part of Season 3 will premiere on October 14. Fans at the event were also given an early preview of the new season.

Prime Video also unveiled the first official trailer for Season 2 of Batman: Caped Crusader. The animated Batman series is scheduled to return on July 31.

The streaming platform used the event to highlight several future animation projects as well. Upcoming titles currently in development include Conan the Barbarian, Wytches, Lore Olympus, and Odd Jobs.

Melissa Wolfe spoke about Prime Video’s growing commitment to animation during the presentation.

“Prime Video held its first Studio Focus Panel at Annecy which is a milestone for us, and the announcements we shared today reflect the scale of our ambition.” She continued by explaining the company’s long-term vision for animated storytelling.

“Renewing ‘Invincible’ for a sixth season, bringing ‘Batman: Caped Crusader’ back this summer, and developing bold new titles like ‘Wytches’ and ‘Lore Olympus’ are the kinds of stories that prove animation isn’t a genre, it’s a canvas. We’re building a home where the best creators in the world want to tell their biggest stories.”

For Invincible fans, the biggest takeaway is clear. With Season 5 on the way, a sixth season already confirmed, and Jack Quaid taking on a new character, Prime Video is showing no signs of slowing down the franchise anytime soon.
