Christopher Nolan’s marketing machine has been running at full throttle for weeks, but nothing captured the scale of anticipation around ‘The Odyssey‘ quite like watching its leading ladies descend on New York City this week. After stops in London and Paris, the epic’s final press tour destination brought the film’s starriest women together under one marquee for what turned into one of the most talked about red carpet moments of the summer.

The setting was the AMC Lincoln Square Theater on July 14, the only venue in the city equipped to screen the film in IMAX 70mm, the format Nolan shot much of the movie in. With the film’s theatrical release just days away on July 17, the premiere carried the weight of being the last major promotional stop before audiences finally get to judge the adaptation of Homer’s ancient poem for themselves.

What stole the spotlight, though, was the lineup of Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Zendaya, and Samantha Morton posing together on the carpet, each dressed in a look that leaned hard into the film’s Grecian and mythological themes. It capped off a fashion-heavy press tour that had already made headlines across London and Paris, but the New York stop brought the five actresses together for arguably their most cohesive group moment yet.

Zendaya led the charge in a jaw-dropping white strapless gown by the avant-garde label Matières Fécales, complete with large feathered wings sculpted onto the back and a thigh-high slit that added drama to every step. The dress was fitting given her role as the goddess Athena, and it followed a version of the same design that first appeared on the brand’s runway during its Fall 2025 show in Paris.

Anne Hathaway, who plays Penelope and is currently pregnant with her third child, glowed in a halter gown featuring a sparkly silver crisscross bodice paired with a flowing, pleated silk skirt, all designed by Prada. She rounded out the look with jewelry from Bulgari, continuing a maternity red carpet run that has drawn praise throughout the film’s international rollout.

Lupita Nyong’o, who takes on the dual roles of Helen of Troy and her sister Clytemnestra in the film, opted for a strapless gold lace gown from Nicholas Oakwell Couture, sculpted over a built-in corset for maximum shine. She finished the look with a matching gold choker and heels, giving her the kind of showstopping presence befitting the woman whose face famously launched a thousand ships.

Charlize Theron, who plays the sea nymph Calypso, went in a different direction entirely with a white blazer inspired mini dress from Dior, featuring a plunging neckline and sculptural bow detailing at the waist. The custom design echoed a look from the house’s Spring 2026 Haute Couture collection, and she paired it with Tiffany and Co jewelry including a diamond and gold choker necklace.

Rounding out the group was Samantha Morton, who plays the sorceress Circe and opted for a Margiela dress paired with matching shoes and jewelry from Leviev Diamonds. True to her reputation for trend defying, theatrical style choices, Morton’s look stood apart from her costars’ more overtly Grecian silhouettes while still fitting seamlessly into the night’s overall aesthetic.

The New York stop wrapped up what has been a whirlwind, fashion-forward press tour for the film’s ensemble, with the cast rotating through custom pieces from Chanel, Givenchy, Schiaparelli, Louis Vuitton, and more across London and Paris in the weeks leading up to release. Each stop has leaned into the same water, earth, and mythological motifs that echo the film’s ancient source material, turning the promotional run itself into something of a cultural moment.
