Sylvester Stallone Returns as Dwight Manfredi in ‘Tulsa King’ Season 4 Teaser

Sylvester Stallone has spent the better part of his eighties proving that slowing down simply isn’t part of his plan, juggling both a steady stream of film work and one of the most surprising television roles of his career. His turn as an aging New York mob boss exiled to Oklahoma has turned into a genuine ratings success for Paramount+, giving the veteran action star a whole new arena to flex his dramatic instincts.

That success hasn’t come without its share of behind-the-scenes turbulence, though. Season 3 saw a change in creative direction after showrunner Dave Erickson departed the series following reported creative conflicts with Stallone, leading original developer Terence Winter to step back in as head writer and executive producer for the show’s next chapter.

Now Paramount+ has confirmed exactly when fans can expect that next chapter to arrive. ‘Tulsa King‘ Season 4 premieres Friday, October 16, on Paramount+, with a newly released teaser trailer confirming Stallone’s return as Dwight Manfredi.

The teaser gives fans their first taste of Dwight’s new set of problems, with Stallone declaring, “I’m not ready to fold. You can’t get rid of me,” as the fourth season sets up an escalating fight to hold onto everything his character has built in Tulsa. According to the official synopsis, Dwight spends the new season attempting to legitimize his growing criminal empire while protecting the crew that helped him build it, all while corrupt politicians and dangerous new adversaries close in from every direction.

Beyond the external threats, Season 4 introduces what Paramount describes as a crushing personal loss for Dwight, adding emotional stakes to a season already promising plenty of criminal intrigue. Every hard-won victory reportedly comes paired with harder truths about loyalty, leadership and the cost of ambition, themes that have defined the series since its debut.

That pressure is expected to pull Dwight back toward the New York street instincts he’d tried to leave behind, turning Tulsa into even more of a battleground than in previous seasons. The season’s new first-look photos hint at rising tension between Dwight and rival Bill Bevilaqua, played by Frank Grillo, along with a growing dynamic between Mitch and Spencer as the crew navigates the fallout.

Season 4 welcomes Gretchen Mol to the cast as a series regular, playing Tulsa politician Amanda Clark, alongside newcomer Eden Lee as Maya, the governor’s chief of staff. They join a returning ensemble that includes Martin Starr, Jay Will, Garrett Hedlund, Vincent Piazza, Annabella Sciorra, Chris Caldovino, Kevin Pollak, Neal McDonough and Dana Delany.

Winter’s return as head writer marks a notable stabilizing move for the series after a season of creative upheaval, given his long history developing the show from its earliest episodes. He’s joined in the executive producer chair by Taylor Sheridan, Stallone himself, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Thomas Kelly and Keith Cox, with Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios producing.

Fan reaction to the teaser has already been enthusiastic across social media, with viewers expressing excitement over Stallone’s return in comments flooding YouTube and Instagram following the trailer’s release.
