‘Star Trek‘ has never been shy about celebrating its own history, and this year’s milestone anniversary is proving to be no exception. With the franchise closing in on 60 years, multiple corners of the ‘Trek’ universe are finding ways to honor that legacy, and one of the most ambitious tributes is coming from an unexpected place.

That tribute comes courtesy of ‘Star Trek Online,’ the long-running free-to-play MMORPG that has spent over a decade bringing familiar faces from across the franchise into its ever-expanding universe. For its next major content update, the game is going all in on one of ‘Trek’s most beloved characters, and doing it in a way that spans multiple eras at once.

The new season, titled ‘Rediscovered,’ will bring together three different versions of Spock within a single storyline. Ethan Peck, who currently plays a younger Spock in ‘Strange New Worlds,’ returns to officially voice the character as Lieutenant Spock, while Piotr Michael steps in to voice an older Captain Spock drawn from the era of ‘Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.’

Rounding out the trio is something genuinely rare for a modern release: restored archival dialogue from the late Leonard Nimoy, allowing his original performance as Commander Spock to become part of a brand-new story more than a decade after his passing. Zachary Quinto, who plays the character in the Kelvin timeline films, does not appear to be involved in this particular project, leaving fans with these three distinct Spocks to experience.

‘Rediscovered’ continues the game’s ongoing remaster of its fan-favorite “The Ultimate Klingon” storyline, which originally began with the earlier “Undiscovered” arc. According to a joint statement from Arc Games and Cryptic Studios, the new chapter finds time itself beginning to fracture across the galaxy, triggered by the mysterious disappearances of key Federation and Klingon Empire figures.

“Captains must unravel the mystery behind the disappearances of Lieutenant Miral Paris and Ambassador B’vat,” the developers explained. “Her final message on the Gateway Planet will send players on a temporal chase across Star Trek history where captains meet Spock through the ages and continue the quest to stop B’vat.” Lisa LoCicero returns as Lieutenant Miral Paris, while Jon St. John reprises his role as B’vat across multiple timelines.

The update won’t be limited to just the new Spock storyline, either. As part of the game’s 60th anniversary celebration, ‘Star Trek Online’ is also rolling out a special Starship Icons Prize Pack, giving players a chance to win one of 60 different starships, with the grand prize being a brand-new Constitution Pilot Multi-Mission Cruiser modeled after the flagship from ‘Strange New Worlds.’

For players eager to jump into the new era-spanning content, timing will depend on platform. PC players will get access first when ‘Rediscovered’ launches on September 22, while PlayStation and Xbox players will need to wait until November 10 to experience the update on consoles.

This kind of multi-generational crossover fits neatly into what’s shaping up to be a packed year for ‘Star Trek’ as a whole, with the franchise leaning heavily into nostalgia and legacy talent across its 60th anniversary celebrations. Between returning voice actors, archival performances, and storylines designed to bridge different eras of the franchise, ‘Star Trek Online’ is positioning itself as one of the more ambitious pieces of that broader celebration.

With three separate versions of one of ‘Trek’s most iconic characters sharing the same adventure, ‘Rediscovered’ is shaping up to be a genuine treat for longtime fans who’ve followed Spock across every era of the franchise’s history.
