‘Burlesque’ Star Christina Aguilera (45) Goes Full ‘Dirrty’ Gothic in a Cross-Covered Sheer Bodysuit and Thigh-High Boots
Christina Aguilera has never been a star who plays it safe on the red carpet. Over a career spanning decades, she has treated fashion as another form of performance, and her latest appearance continued that tradition.
This time the setting was a Los Angeles health event, and the look had plenty of drama.
Aguilera attended MISTR’s second annual National PrEP Day celebration at The Abbey in Los Angeles on October 10. MISTR is an online health platform, and the event is held to raise awareness around its work.
It is also a repeat occasion. The first edition took place at The Abbey last October, when Dua Lipa gave a surprise performance alongside drag performers including Aquaria, Plastique Tiara, Trinity the Tuck, Symone and Shea Couleé.

For the blue carpet, Aguilera, 45, chose a daring all-black ensemble. She wore a sheer black bodysuit covered in cross motifs, layered over a small lace bra with embroidery.
Below, she wore black leather high-waisted briefs with lace-up sides. Garters trailing from the hips attached to skin-toned fishnet tights, which added a vintage edge.
The cross details were a standout, giving the whole outfit a gothic feel. It was a deliberately theatrical statement.

She finished the look with black suede thigh-high boots that reached to the tops of her legs. The boots had thin high heels, pointed toes, lacing and sheer sections with a geometric pattern.
Her hair fell loose in long platinum waves, and she chose a bold smoky eye with a natural-toned lip. The contrast between dark makeup and bright blonde hair made the black outfit stand out against the vivid blue backdrop.
For many viewers, the combination recalled the era when she released her hit ‘Dirrty’, a reference that fans have made often in recent months.

The outfit fits a pattern. Aguilera has leaned heavily into bodysuits and thigh-high boots in 2026. In September, she shared clips from a gala performance in Monaco in which she wore a black velvet strapless bodysuit with fishnet stockings and thigh-high boots.
During that performance she switched looks, adding a statement body chain, a pink ruffle train, a leather jacket, sunglasses and a front bow. Constants included matching gloves, shimmery makeup and her signature blonde hair styled in a high half-up, half-down ponytail.
She has also worn a red leather corset bodysuit with a floor-length fur coat at a festival in Austin, and a gray corset bodysuit by London-based designer Rafaela Pestritu for performances in Mexico and Costa Rica. Her stylist for many of these looks is Chris Horan.

Aguilera has long used her profile for health and wellness causes. She is a cofounder of the sexual wellness personal care brand Playground, and she took part in a conversation about women’s health with Halle Berry.
At that event she wore thigh-high boots with a Blumarine outfit, a sharper take on her usual style. Thigh-high boots are something of a signature, and she wore a black pair to the reopening of H&M’s flagship store in Times Square.
She has a long history of supporting health causes with her performances, including galas for HIV and AIDS research and cancer treatment fundraisers. Her appearance at MISTR’s event continues that tradition.
Part of the reaction comes from nostalgia. Aguilera built her image on bold, provocative fashion, and the nods to her early 2000s style resonated with fans who grew up with those looks.
The gothic details also felt fresh. Cross motifs, lace and garter details create a darker mood than her glittery stage costumes, and they suited the late-night event.
At 45, she remains unafraid to commit to a fashion concept completely. With a performance schedule and new styles arriving constantly, it looks like she is just getting started.
What do you think of Christina Aguilera’s gothic look at the MISTR event?
