Chris Pratt Puts Jack Ryan, Reacher and James Reece in One Frame, and Alan Ritchson Has Jokes
Prime Video has spent years building a roster of action heroes who headline their own separate franchises. Each one has his own cast, his own storylines and his own release calendar. That makes any crossover, even a joke one, feel like an event.
Lately, that corner of Prime Video has been unusually busy. ‘Reacher‘ returned for a new season in August, a ‘Jack Ryan’ movie arrived in the spring, and ‘The Terminal List‘ is back with fresh episodes. It was only a matter of time before somebody put the 3 franchises side by side.
That somebody turned out to be Pratt himself. ‘The Terminal List’ star posted an AI-generated image on Instagram that puts him, John Krasinski and Alan Ritchson in the same frame, with each actor dressed as his own character: James Reece, Jack Ryan and Jack Reacher.
The trio is staged in the classic Spider-Man pointing meme, with each man aiming a finger at the other 2 in a triangle. Pratt gave the group a nickname in the caption, calling them “The JRs,” a nod to the initials shared by Jack Ryan, Jack Reacher and James Reece. He added that the 3 had officially entered the “Prime Universe.”

Pratt couldn’t resist poking fun at the image itself. He wrote that this is what happens when you ask AI to put 3 action guys in one room, then added that, honestly, “I’ve looked worse.”
The joke came with a genuine message, though. Pratt said that with all the love ‘The Terminal List’ has been getting, he wanted to show some appreciation for 2 guys who are also crushing it on Prime. He told followers that if they haven’t watched ‘Jack Ryan’ or ‘Reacher,’ they should do themselves a favor and check out both.
Ritchson didn’t take long to respond. In the comments, he joked that it was the first time AI hadn’t made him look like a mashup of John Cena and Matt Damon, which added a playful note to an already lighthearted post and showed he was happy to be part of the gag.
The exchange is a reminder that the 3 leads appear to be on friendly terms, even if the closest they have come to sharing a set is a meme. Ritchson leads ‘Reacher’ as the title drifter, while Krasinski headlines ‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan,’ a role far removed from his comedic work on ‘The Office.’

Each of the 3 stars is riding a busy stretch. ‘Reacher’ season 4 premiered on August 12 with 8 episodes, and it adapts Lee Child’s 13th Jack Reacher novel, ‘Gone Tomorrow.’ Prime Video has renewed the show for seasons 5 and 6, and an 8-episode spinoff, ‘Neagley,’ was set to follow the season 4 finale.
Krasinski’s CIA analyst, meanwhile, closed out his series in 2023, then returned in the feature film ‘Jack Ryan: Ghost War’ on Prime Video in May, with Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly back alongside him. The series itself streamed on Prime Video for 4 seasons, starting in 2018. Pratt’s own franchise is expanding too, since the second season of ‘The Terminal List’ premiered on October 21, and Prime Video has since ordered ‘Savage Son,’ a new series that continues Reece’s story and is based on Jack Carr’s third novel in the book series.

For now, the post is all in good fun, and nothing suggests an actual team-up is on the table. Still, the reaction shows how much affection there is for these characters and how appealing the idea of a shared Prime Video universe remains. The 3 franchises are all thriving on the same streamer, which is exactly why fans enjoy imagining the heroes in one room, even if the room is AI-generated. A meme may be the only place Reece, Ryan and Reacher will ever stand together, but it’s a pretty entertaining place to start.
Which Prime Video action hero would you want to see lead a real crossover?
