According to the Latest Rumor, Shawn Levy’s ‘Star Wars’ Movie is Facing Trouble as Major Names Decline Roles

Shawn Levy’s major Star Wars project, Star Wars: Starfighter, has been one of the hottest topics in recent weeks. After being just a major rumor for a long time, the movie was finally confirmed at the recent Star Wars Celebration Japan, which had fans quite excited.
The movie is, as things stand now, going to star Ryan Gosling as a Jedi who is training his young nephew as the two of them go on a mission, during which they are hunted by two major villains.
But, while Gosling is an A-lister who generally attracts other major names, and we’ve had some major rumors surrounding potential castings, it seems that the movie might have some trouble filling its roles.
The latest rumor comes from DanielRPK via his Patreon account. DanielRPK has been vehemently following the rumors related to Starfighter, but it seems that things are not going to turn out as some fans hoped.
In his later post, Richtman revealed that Jesse Plemons and Jodie Comer were supposed to play the villainous duo in the movie, but both have declined to participate in the movie. Mikey Madison was approached to replace Comer, but we’ve already confirmed that she had also declined the role.
The important role of Gosling’s character’s sister or sister-in-law, the mother of Gosling’s Padawan, was offered to Sarah Snook, but the Australian actress declined to participate as well.
As for the rumored participation of Greta Lee, she was offered a completely different female role – that of a cantina owner – but Richtman reports that she, as well, declined to participate.
So, with so many rejections early on, it seems that Starfighter is in bigger trouble than we thought. Of course, all of these rumors have to be taken with a grain of salt, but if they are even partially true, it is definitely going to be interesting to see who will be cast in the movie and when.
