Alan Ritchson Confirms He Was Knocked Unconscious While Filming ‘Reacher’ Season 3 Finale

The third season of Reacher came to a close on March 27, 2025, when the eighth episode, “Unfinished Business”, was released. We know that the series will continue after the third season, as Amazon has already renewed the series for a fourth season.
The series’ star, Alan Rithcson, talked to the press about the Season 3 finale, and he said that he had a very unpleasant experience while filming it. We are going to bring you the story here in this report.
The incident happened while filming the long-awaited fight with Paulie (Olivier Richters), the guy whose formidable physique makes even Reacher (Ritchson) look small and weak. It was an exhausting fight in which Reacher had to endure a lot while, at the same time, facing an enemy that just wouldn’t go down, no matter how hard he was hit.
Ritchson insisted on doing the stunts for this scene himself, which is why the actor suffered almost as much as the character. And it was during the filming of this scene that he actually got knocked unconscious, which – as you might guess, wasn’t a pleasant experience.
“The whole point is you just watch Reacher get ragdolled for five minutes straight. And I was like, ‘This is fun. I like that this is the idea for everybody right now.’ And I get the bright idea to shoot a stunt in a way, because I was like, ‘I want the audience to know that I’m doing this for us,” Ritchson explained. “I’m taking one for Reacher and we’re all in this together,’ and so I wanted the camera to come up and just stay on my face the whole time while I get smashed through a table on the barn floor.“
Of course, everyone was against it and Ritchson actually said that he had to fight his team to let him do the scene himself, as it was deemed too dangerous. He ultimately got to do it, but he learned his lesson the hard way.
“I got picked up and we worked out the camera thing a few times and he slammed me through the table so hard, I went through it into the seventh circle of hell. And I woke up a day and a half later,” he revealed. “When I came to, I had to tell my kids that I felt great, because they were on set, and I didn’t want them to think that like, dad died and was going to not be okay. It was the worst few minutes of my life.”
