Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ has spent the last few weeks turning red carpets across the globe into something close to a fashion event in its own right. Every stop on the tour has brought a new look, a new city, and a new wave of photos flooding social media.

Anne Hathaway, who plays Penelope in the sprawling adaptation of Homer’s epic poem, has been at the center of nearly all of it. Her press tour wardrobe has moved through red power looks, flowing golden velvet, and dramatic couture gowns as she has crossed from New York to London to Paris and back again.

On Monday night, that tour landed back home in New York, where Hathaway stepped out for a press event tied to ‘The Odyssey’ dressed in a white gown with a fitted, sleeveless bodice and a softly tiered, asymmetric hem. The look continued the ethereal, goddess-inspired aesthetic that has defined much of her promotional wardrobe for the film.

The appearance came just days after ‘The Odyssey’ held advance screenings in Manhattan ahead of its wide theatrical rollout, giving New York audiences an early look at Nolan’s take on the ancient Greek saga. The film marks the director’s first project since his Oscar-winning ‘Oppenheimer’ and represents his first attempt at bringing Homer’s poem to the big screen using IMAX film technology.

‘The Odyssey’ follows Odysseus, played by Matt Damon, as he attempts a grueling journey home to Ithaca after the fall of Troy, all while his wife Penelope and son Telemachus wait and wonder if he will ever return. Tom Holland plays Telemachus, while the sprawling cast also includes Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya and Charlize Theron.

Hathaway’s New York stop capped off a globe-spanning promotional run that has already taken her through several countries. She wore a custom Dior gown designed by Jonathan Anderson for the film’s world premiere in London, followed by a strapless navy Prada look at the Paris premiere and a chocolate-toned custom Louis Vuitton piece for a final photocall at the Grand Rex Cinema.

Throughout the tour, Hathaway has also been quietly making headlines for another reason entirely. She revealed her pregnancy with her third child in an Instagram video in June, and her stylist Erin Walsh has since built much of her press wardrobe around empire waistlines and flowing silhouettes that work with her growing bump rather than around it.

That approach was on full display again in New York, where the tiered white gown offered the same kind of soft, draped movement that has become something of a signature for this particular run of appearances. It is a notable shift from the structured, sharply tailored looks Hathaway has favored on past press tours, and fans have taken notice of just how consistently she has leaned into the theme.

With ‘The Odyssey’ set to expand into theaters everywhere on July 17, this New York appearance likely marks one of Hathaway’s final stops before the film’s full release. Given how much attention her press tour wardrobe has generated on its own, it seems safe to expect at least one more standout look before the epic finally reaches audiences everywhere.
