Ben Grimm Clobbers His Way Through Marvel’s Supervillains in New Limited Series ‘The Thing’ – Releasing This May

Ben Grimm, the Thing from the Fantastic Four, is getting his own comic series. It’s called “The Thing” and starts on May 21, 2025. This five-issue limited series will show Ben fighting some of Marvel’s toughest villains.

The story kicks off when Ben looks for a missing child and uncovers a criminal plot tied to his old neighborhood, Yancy Street. This makes him a wanted man.

In the series, Ben takes on classic bad guys like Bullseye, Juggernaut, Blob, Jigsaw, Grizzly, Diamondback, Thunderball, and Sidewinder. It’s all about action, with Ben using his rocky fists to smash through trouble.

The comic is written by Tony Fleecs, who worked on “Venom War: Wolverine.” The art is by Leonard Kirk, known for “Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku.” They’re bringing a fresh look at Ben’s life and fights.

The first issue comes out in May, with new issues each month after that. This timing is interesting because it’s just before the “Fantastic Four: First Steps” movie hits theaters in July 2025. The comic might connect to the film, maybe giving some backstory. Fans won’t need to know everything about Ben to enjoy it, but his past adds extra depth.

For those who don’t know him, Ben Grimm is a key member of the Fantastic Four. He’s a tough guy with a rocky body and a big heart. This series puts him front and center, away from his team, facing personal challenges and big battles. It’s a chance to see why fans love him.

I think this series sounds like a winner. Putting him against so many classic villains is exciting. The timing with the movie could make it even bigger, drawing in new readers. It’s smart to give him a solo shot now. What do you think about Ben getting his own series? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
