Bruce Wayne’s Secret Alter Ego Spotted On Set As ‘The Batman: Part 2’ Films At A New Bridge Location

Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight has spent the past several weeks quietly turning stretches of England into a snow-dusted version of Gotham City, and the production has continued moving through new locations as filming presses forward. What began with overnight shoots at the Birkenhead Tunnel has since expanded to fresh corners of the production map, each one offering a small new clue about how Matt Reeves plans to expand his vision of the character.

That expansion appears to have taken ‘The Batman: Part 2’ to a new setting entirely, following weeks of activity centered around the Liverpool area. According to earlier reporting on the production, filming was expected to move from the Birkenhead Tunnel onto the Silver Jubilee Bridge in Runcorn once work at the tunnel wrapped, and this latest set video suggests that shift may already be underway.

The Batman Saga News shared a new clip from the set showing the Drifter, Bruce Wayne’s undercover civilian disguise, following an ambulance near what appears to be the Silver Jubilee Bridge, with the footage credited to the account LiverpoolGotham. The moment offers one of the clearest looks yet at how Reeves plans to use the Drifter identity within the sequel’s story.

The Drifter first appeared in 2022’s ‘The Batman’ as a disguise Bruce Wayne uses to move through Gotham without drawing attention, allowing him to blend into crowds and gather information without revealing his identity as the caped crusader. The costume, consisting of heavy workwear, a hoodie, and a scarf to obscure his face, was reportedly inspired by dock worker clothing in Brooklyn, an influence said to have come directly from Pattinson himself during the first film’s production.

Seeing that same alter ego resurface on set for the sequel suggests the character’s undercover approach to crime fighting will continue to play a role in the story going forward. Following an ambulance in particular hints at some kind of investigative sequence, in keeping with the grounded, detective-driven tone that defined the original film’s approach to Batman.

The Silver Jubilee Bridge itself carries plenty of visual weight for a production built around dramatic architecture, spanning the River Mersey and Manchester Ship Canal between Runcorn and Widnes. Its steel arch design and considerable height make it a fitting stand-in for the kind of imposing, atmospheric backdrop Reeves has favored throughout Gotham’s on-screen depiction.

This location shift comes as production on ‘The Batman: Part 2’ continues to ramp up across multiple filming hubs in the United Kingdom, following earlier reports that the sequel would also use Glasgow and the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Leavesden for additional scenes. Reeves has previously described the story as digging deeper into Gotham’s corruption, promising to expand on aspects of Bruce Wayne’s character that the first film only hinted at.

Pattinson is expected to be joined by returning cast members including Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, and Andy Serkis as Alfred, with Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson also reportedly joining the sequel in new roles. With the film currently set for release in February of 2028, following a delay to allow additional time in post-production, fans still have a considerable wait ahead before seeing how these on-set glimpses come together.

For now, sightings like the Drifter trailing an ambulance across a new bridge location offer some of the most tangible hints yet at how Reeves is building out this next chapter of Bruce Wayne’s story.
