Cinépolis Unveils Doctor Doom Collectibles for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, With a Full-Torso Popcorn Bucket Still to Come
Collectible popcorn buckets have become their own subgenre of movie marketing. Sculpted tubs and novelty cups now arrive alongside every major tentpole, and fans line up for them as eagerly as they do for the films themselves. Recent examples include a collapsible Captain America shield tub for ‘Captain America: Brave New World’, a massive Galactus head bucket for ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ and a nano gauntlet for ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’.
It was only a matter of time before ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ joined that tradition, and Doctor Doom has been the obvious star. Robert Downey Jr.’s villain has been the face of the marketing, and a Doom bucket concept from artist Bosslogic drew hundreds of thousands of views last December, with Downey himself sharing the artwork. Marvel even released an ‘Endgame Encore’ poster showing Doom in a theater seat holding a red nano gauntlet full of popcorn.
Now another theater chain has joined in. Latin American operator Cinépolis has announced a set of official ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ collectibles, and a fan-shared image shows the lineup. The promo art shows a row of 3 cups shaped like Doom’s green-hooded, silver-masked head, above a second row of purple-and-silver helmet-style cups, with a label reading “Vasos & Baldes”, the Spanish and Portuguese words for cups and buckets.

Alongside the announced items, a fan account noted that 1 popcorn bucket, featuring Doom’s full torso, is expected to be announced later in the day. A third image reportedly shared concept art of that piece, showing Doom’s hooded figure with glowing green eyes. That has not been confirmed in an official release yet, and no pricing or on-sale dates have been announced for the Cinépolis items.
Cinépolis has been teasing Doom collectibles for some time. Its Brazilian branch previously posted a video of a sculpted Doom bust with his arms crossed under the words “Exclusivo na Cinépolis”. The new announcement appears to expand that into a full range of cups and buckets.
Cinépolis is not alone. Cinemark Brasil revealed a popcorn bucket sculpted as Doom’s hooded metal mask with glowing green eyes, along with a throne drink cup that shows Doom seated on a carved stone throne. The cup includes Avengers and Fantastic Four logos, translucent green accents and a green straw.
Spain’s Cine Yelmo has its own Doom bust bucket and mask cup, and the film is being released there as ‘Vengadores: Doomsday’. Another Brazilian chain, Cineflix Cinemas, has a hooded helmet bucket and a black metallic bucket with a glowing Avengers “A”. Collectibles have also appeared from chains in Argentina, Chile and Guatemala.
So far, no US theater chain has announced a Doomsday popcorn bucket. The glowing Doom head that spread online as a Cinemark release was actually posted by Cinemark Brasil for theaters in Brazil. AMC and Regal currently list a Doctor Doom Mask Light for $29.99 as a pre-order, but not a bucket.
Regal does have other promotions, including collectible 3D glasses at a December 20 RealD 3D fan event. Each guest receives a pair with 1 of 5 mystery logos, representing the Avengers, Black Panther, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four or Doom himself. One site that tracks buckets expects US theaters to show theirs in mid to late November, before the film opens, based on how ‘Endgame Encore’ went.

There is also a caution for fans. Fake Doomsday buckets, including a hooded Doom head, a bust and a throne cup, appeared on AliExpress, copying the real designs from Brazil, Spain and Latin America before the listings disappeared. Collectors are advised to be careful with unofficial sellers and to check original posts from the theater chains.
It is worth noting that the Cinépolis lineup comes from a fan-shared image rather than a full press release, so details may change. Still, the designs fit the pattern of the other chains. They lean heavily on Doom’s instantly recognizable look, with the green hood and glowing eyes doing most of the work.
For fans, the main question is how many Doom variants they can fit on a shelf. With ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ arriving on December 18, the race to collect every version is just getting started. Between the hooded heads, the throne cups and the full-torso bucket, the concession stand looks like it will be one of the film’s biggest battlegrounds.
