Prime Video has finally confirmed when Citadel will return, ending a long gap since the spy thriller first premiered. The series, created by Joe and Anthony Russo, is coming back with a second season after a three-year wait.

When Citadel first launched, it aimed big. The show brought together Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Stanley Tucci in a global spy world full of secret agencies, shifting loyalties, and constant danger. The first season leaned heavily on high-stakes action and a large-scale storyline built around betrayal and memory manipulation.

Now the streamer has released a new trailer and locked in the release date for the next chapter. Season 2 will arrive on May 6, and all seven episodes will be released at once on Prime Video. The show will also be available in more than 240 countries and territories, continuing its push as a global release.

According to Prime Video and information shared with the trailer, the new season picks up after the collapse of the Citadel organization. The powerful spy agency has already fallen apart after being targeted by Manticore, a secret network backed by influential global figures.

Despite that collapse, the core team is drawn back into action. Mason Kane, Nadia Sinh, and Bernard Orlick return to face a new threat that pushes them into another worldwide mission. The story focuses on rebuilding a team and stopping a dangerous conspiracy that could have global consequences.

The returning cast includes Madden, Chopra Jonas, and Tucci in their main roles. Lesley Manville and Ashleigh Cummings are also back. The new season also adds several new faces, including Jack Reynor, Matt Berry, and Lina El Arabi. Additional cast members like Merle Dandridge, Gabriel Leone, and Rayna Vallandingham are joining the expanding lineup.

Prime Video’s decision to release all episodes at once shows confidence in the series’ global appeal, even after the long gap between seasons. The first season had mixed reactions from viewers and critics, but it still gained attention for its scale and production value.

With Season 2 now set, the series is clearly aiming to continue its large-scale spy story while introducing new characters and raising the stakes even higher.
