Manny Jacinto has spoken about whether he would return as Qimir in Star Wars: The Acolyte, especially if there were changes in leadership at Lucasfilm under Dave Filoni.

Jacinto played Qimir, also known as “The Stranger,” in the Disney+ series The Acolyte. The character became one of the most talked-about parts of the show, even though the series was later canceled after just one season. Despite the cancellation, interest in the character has stayed strong among fans who continue to ask for his return.

During the convention panel, Jacinto was asked what he would do if Lucasfilm president Dave Filoni approached him about coming back to the role. He responded positively and showed immediate interest in returning. He said, “Oh, yeah.” However, he also made it clear that the character was the result of a team effort rather than just his own performance.

Jacinto explained that Qimir was built with the help of many people, including the writers, costume designers, and the creative team behind the show. He said, “I mean, there is no Stranger without Leslye Headland. Again, it’s the people that helped build this character — it’s not just me.” He added that he would be happy to work with the same creative team again if the opportunity came up.

His comments reflect how important the original creators of The Acolyte are to the character’s identity. Leslye Headland, who created the series, played a key role in shaping Qimir and the darker storyline connected to him. Jacinto’s response also suggests that any return would likely depend on the direction of future Star Wars projects and whether the creative team behind the original show is involved.

The Acolyte was set during the High Republic era, hundreds of years before the events of The Phantom Menace. The series followed a former Jedi Padawan named Osha, played by Amandla Stenberg, who becomes involved in a series of mysterious murders tied to her past. The show explored the early rise of dark side forces, including the introduction of Qimir and hints about his connection to powerful Sith figures.

Although the series received positive attention from fans and critics, it was canceled after its first season. This left many storylines unresolved, including Qimir’s full backstory and his connection to larger Sith lore. Fans have since continued to speculate about whether the character could return in another Star Wars project.

Jacinto’s recent comments have only added to that discussion. While he did not confirm any official plans, his openness to returning has given fans new hope that Qimir’s story is not completely finished. For now, there has been no announcement from Lucasfilm about reviving the character or continuing The Acolyte in any form.

The discussion comes at a time when Star Wars continues to expand across both film and television, with multiple projects in development. Whether Qimir appears again will likely depend on how Lucasfilm chooses to build on the era introduced in The Acolyte.
