Daredevil: Born Again is one of the most anticipated MCU projects at the moment, and there’s a good reason for that. As we all know, Charlie Cox first debuted as the Man Without Fear in Netflix’s Daredevil series, which premiered on the streamer in 2015. The series ran for three seasons, and it received critical acclaim, with many fans still calling it one of the best superhero shows ever made.

Netflix canceled the series in 2018 due to the rights to the character reverting back to Disney’s Marvel Studios, and the fans started online petitions and campaigns on social media, urging Marvel Studios to continue the series. After three years, Charlie Cox reprised the role in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Vicent D’Onofrio reprised the role of Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, in the Hawkeye series.

At San Diego Comic-Con in July 2022, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige officially announced Daredevil: Born Again, a reboot series with Cox and D’Onofrio set to reprise their respective roles. Feige announced that the series would run for 18 episodes. The series is currently in production, and while we’re waiting for it, let’s take a look at everything we know about Daredevil: Born Again so far.

What is the potential release date of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’?

In July 2022, Kevin Feige announced many new MCU projects currently in development for both big and small screens. We wouldn’t be wrong to say that Daredevil: Born Again is the most-anticipated TV project Marvel Studios is developing now. At the presentation, Feige revealed that Daredevil: Born Again should premiere in the Spring of 2024.

However, that was before Marvel Studios created more free room between each new series. Secret Invasion, originally set to premiere in early 2023, will now premiere in June, while the second season of Loki, originally announced for Summer, won’t premiere before October. The Iron Heart series was announced to premiere in late 2023, but now there’s no way it will premiere this year since Echo is set to premiere in November.

Therefore, we wouldn’t be surprised if we’d need to wait until the Summer of 2024 for the premiere of Daredevil: Born Again. Also, with 18 announced episodes, Daredevil: Born Again is the longest Disney+ MCU series. Suppose the series is going to be released the traditional way, with one episode per week. In that case, it will take almost half a year to release the entire series, which could create further complications with Marvel Studios’ release schedule on Disney+.

What will ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ be about?

Daredevil: Born Again shares a name with the Born Again comic book storyline, which was written by Frank Miller and published in 1986. The story follows Daredevil’s struggles to build a new life and his descent into insanity. But that storyline was already loosely adapted into the third season of Netflix’s Daredevil series.

While we’re not expecting the upcoming series to follow the homonymous storyline, there’s a good chance that the series “borrowed” this title from the comics to symbolize Daredevil’s long-awaited return in his standalone series. Maybe we’re speaking nonsense now, but it could actually make sense, or at least we’d like to think so. The official description for the series hasn’t been revealed yet, so we’ll need to wait.

The official cast of Daredevil: Born Again.

The upcoming Daredevil series is set to feature some familiar faces, along with other MCU newcomers. As it was announced at the begging, Charlie Cox is set to reprise the title role, while Vincent D’Onofrio returns to the role of Daredevil’s archenemy Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin. You can see the list of confirmed actors below.

  • Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock / Daredevil
  • Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk / Kingpin
  • Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle / Punisher
  • Sandrine Holt as Vanessa Fisk
  • Michael Gandolfini
  • Margarita Levieva
  • Nikki M. James
  • Michael Gaston
  • Arty Froushan
  • Clark Johnson

Jon Bernthal is also confirmed to return as Frank Castle, aka Punisher. As for the new cast members, Sandrine Holt is set to star as Vanessa Fisk, replacing Ayelet Zurer, who played the character in the original Daredevil series. Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, Nikki M. James, Michael Gaston, and Arty Froushan joined the series in undisclosed roles. Clark Johnson, one of the series’ directors, is also set to have a role in it.

When could the trailer be released?

Since we don’t know the exact premiere date, it’s hard to predict when the first official footage for the upcoming Daredevil series will be revealed. However, nothing is stopping us from taking a guess. If we look at the Secret Invasion series, although it’s set to premiere in June, we watched the first teaser back in September. The first official footage was revealed at the Disney+ Day event.

That could put some faith that we’ll see the first official footage of Daredevil: Born Again this year. However, the series is still far away, and it’s impossible to know when the trailer will arrive. There are some events where the teaser could be presented, at least exclusively for the on-place audience, but that’s just a mere guess.

Where will ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ be available to watch?

While other networks and streaming services like ABC, Netflix, Hulu, and Freeform previously worked on television content based on Marvel properties. But since the Marvel Cinematic Universe started the Multiverse Saga in 2021, each and every Marvel-based TV show was produced directly by Marvel Studios and aired on Disney+. So, once it premieres, Daredevil: Born Again will be streaming exclusively on Disney+. The original Daredevil series that originally aired on Netflix is also now streaming on Disney+.

Created by Matt Corman and Chris Ord, the Daredevil: Born Again series is currently in production, and we’re waiting for further updates about it. Stay tuned.
