Fans Say Zendaya’s Outfits for ‘The Odyssey’ Will “Go Down in History” as Stuff of Legends

Every awards season and press tour produces a handful of outfits that stick in people’s memory, but every so often, a run of red carpet looks becomes something bigger than any single dress. That is exactly what has happened over the past two weeks as Zendaya crisscrossed London, Paris, and New York promoting Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’, turning what could have been a routine international press tour into a full-blown fashion event.

Zendaya plays the goddess Athena in Nolan’s sweeping adaptation of Homer’s epic poem, and she and longtime stylist Law Roach clearly treated that casting as an invitation. Nearly every outfit across the tour leaned into an ethereal, Grecian-inspired aesthetic built almost entirely around draping, sculptural bodices, and a steady stream of white and metallic fabrics that echoed her character’s mythological roots.

The tour kicked off with a swishing white Khaite blouse and skirt combination from the label’s Resort 2027 collection, cinched with a leather belt and paired with gold Louboutin sandals. From there, things escalated quickly, with each stop bringing a bigger fashion swing than the last, culminating in a run of looks now being called one of the most cohesive and ambitious red carpet campaigns in recent memory.

In London, Zendaya wore a custom white Jacquemus dress featuring a beaded halter neckline and a dramatic open back scarf detail, paired with 3,000-year-old gold disc earrings from Barron London. That same evening, at the film’s world premiere, she debuted the tour’s most talked about moment, a sculptural Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown pulled directly off the runway in Paris just hours before the event.

The story behind that dress became a viral moment on its own. Roach revealed to French creator Elias Medini that he had flown to Paris specifically to see the Schiaparelli show, explaining that he had a private jet waiting to fly the gown straight to London the same day. When asked why he chose that particular look, Roach laughed and simply said, “Maybe,” after the interviewer suggested it was because the dress felt like it was giving Odyssey, a moment he later confirmed while speaking to Lyas before the piece made its way onto Zendaya just hours later.

Not content with a single outfit for the premiere, Zendaya changed midway through the evening into a Valentino Spring 2026 look featuring a sculptural leaf shaped bra and a flowing gray silk skirt, proving Roach’s now familiar mantra that there is always a second dress. The Paris leg of the tour brought yet another showstopper, a stark white archival Givenchy piece from Alexander McQueen’s spring 1997 haute couture collection, complete with the original runway’s pointed gold lace headpiece.

Zendaya also turned to Louis Vuitton for the Paris premiere itself, wearing a two tone white custom gown with cutout detailing and escargot lace embellishment that reportedly took more than 800 hours to construct. The tour then closed out in New York, where she arrived at the final premiere in a white strapless Matières Fécales gown complete with sculptural feathered wings, a fitting bookend to a run of looks built entirely around the idea of a modern day goddess descending onto the red carpet.

Taken together, the sequence has generated exactly the kind of reaction fashion campaigns rarely achieve, with fans and outlets alike treating each stop as appointment viewing rather than routine premiere coverage. The Schiaparelli stunt in particular sparked plenty of conversation online, with some praising the audacity of the runway to red carpet turnaround and others criticizing the use of a private jet to transport a single dress.

Regardless of where anyone lands on that debate, there is little argument that Zendaya and Roach turned a standard international press tour into something people are still talking about days later.
