Fans Will Reportedly Be Disappointed with Esposito’s Role in the MCU: “It’s Being Overhyped”

Recently Giancarlo Esposito made headlines when he claimed that he would like to appear as Professor X in the MCU, but without the wheelchair, as he isn’t that old. Fans were divided on the matter since some still harbor hope that Patrick Stewart will be the MCU’s primary Charles Xavier despite him being killed during the events of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.’

Then during a panel on Thunder Stage at CCXP Esposito confirmed that he will be appearing in the Marvel project, but also made it clear it’s not as Professor X.

Following the revelation of his casting, we’ve got a confirmation that Esposito will appear in ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ as a villain, but it’s not Magneto or Doctor Doom. Esposito himself confirmed that his character will appear in the Disney+ original show, but it’s unclear whether it will be a solo show or whether he will appear in someone else’s solo show due to his weird wording.

Even after numerous set leaks (and drawings) that depict Esposito in costume fans still can’t figure out which character he is playing. Some of the expected villains like Count Nefaria have been ruled out, and leakers and scoopers also claim that Esposito is not Bushman, a villain that would tie nicely in ‘Moon Knight’ Season 2.

Now one lesser-known scooper going by the username Oh How I Marvel at Those Marvels says that fans will be disappointed when they ultimately learn who Esposito is playing.

The leaker actually chose an excellent comparison to the current situation. Robert Redford’s appearance in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ was surprising due to his legendary film industry status and reputation for championing independent films. His portrayal of Alexander Pierce marked a departure from his usual roles, shocking viewers who associated him with honest and integrity-filled characters. Redford’s casting underscored the film’s theme of corruption within America’s institutions.
