Revenge thrillers live or die on their lead performance, and few actresses carry the kind of icy, commanding presence needed to anchor one quite like Catherine Zeta-Jones. After spending recent years balancing prestige drama with darker, more morally complicated roles, she’s now stepping into a part that leans fully into calculated menace.

That role finally has visuals to match the buzz surrounding it. The first trailer for ‘Kill Jackie‘ has been released, giving audiences their first real look at Zeta-Jones as Jackie Price, a former international drug smuggler and art dealer who’s spent the last twenty years building a quiet, anonymous life abroad, only for that carefully constructed existence to collapse the moment her past catches up with her.

According to the show’s official premise, Jackie’s world turns lethal fast once she discovers that The Seven Demons, a squad of the world’s most feared hitmen, have been hired specifically to kill her. Rather than run, Jackie sets out to hunt them down one by one before they can complete their mission, flipping the show’s premise from prey to predator almost immediately.

‘Kill Jackie’ surrounds Zeta-Jones with a genuinely stacked ensemble, starring Daniel Ings, Bill Paterson, and Ron Perlman alongside her in key roles. The broader cast also includes Sidse Babett Knudsen, Óscar Jaenada, Hattie Hook, Darci Shaw, Raff Law, Enzo Cilenti, Christine Adams, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Julian Barratt, and several other recognizable faces pulled from projects like ‘The Gentlemen,’ ‘Borgen,’ and ‘House of the Dragon.’

The series is based on “The Price You Pay,” a novel by Sunday Times bestselling author Nick Harkaway, written under his pseudonym Aidan Truhen. Notably, the show’s adaptation swaps the book’s original male protagonist for Zeta-Jones’ Jackie, a change that reshapes the story’s central revenge arc around a woman reclaiming control of her own narrative rather than simply reacting to danger.

Behind the camera, ‘Kill Jackie’ comes from a genuinely impressive lineup of television talent. The eight-part series was co-created by Conor Keane and Tom Butterworth of ‘Gangs of London,’ alongside Peter Lawson of the ‘John Wick’ franchise and Damon Thomas of ‘Killing Eve,’ with Butterworth serving as writer and showrunner while Thomas takes on lead directing duties.

Catherine Zeta-Jones’ Revenge Thriller ‘Kill Jackie’ Sets Premiere Date Across Prime Video and AMC+

‘Kill Jackie’ is premiering October 2 on AMC+ in the United States, with the show also launching the same day on Prime Video across the UK, Ireland, Canada, and several European territories, alongside a Stan release in additional markets. That kind of coordinated multi-platform rollout signals real confidence from the show’s backers heading into launch.

Given the pedigree behind the project, from Harkaway’s source material serving as executive consultant to a creative team with direct ties to some of television’s most acclaimed thrillers of the past decade, ‘Kill Jackie’ arrives with plenty of momentum already built in. Whether Zeta-Jones’ turn as a reformed smuggler-turned-vigilante lives up to that pedigree will become clear once the full eight-episode season drops.

How excited are you to see Catherine Zeta-Jones hunt down the world’s deadliest assassins in Kill Jackie?
