Here’s How Old Baylan Skoll Might Be in ‘Ahsoka’

Baylan Skoll was introduced in the first ‘Ahsoka’ episode and quickly became a fan favorite. We know that he was a Jedi before the events of Order 66 and even knew Anakin Skywalker. Still, very little is known about the character, and we will undoubtedly learn more about him over time. One of the many questions about the character is exactly how old was he during Order 66 and how old was he during ‘Ahsoka’? That’s what we are here to break down. Here is our theory on how old Baylan Skoll is in ‘Ahsoka’! 

Based on the age of the late Ray Stevenson, who was 55 years old at the time of filming, it is safe to assume that Baylan Skoll is roughly the same age, give or take a few years. We know he was a Jedi who survived Order 66 and is clearly skilled with Force and Lightsaber combat. This would mean that he was fully trained as a Jedi Knight.

How old was Baylan Skoll during Order 66?

Based on his presumed age in ‘Ahsoka,’ it is likely that Baylan Skoll was either in his late 20s or early 30s during the rise of the Empire. He is clearly fully trained in the use of the Force and his Lightsaber combat, so he was definitely a Jedi Knight during the events of the prequel trilogy.

With ‘Ahsoka’ taking place roughly five years after the events of the original trilogy, it would make it roughly 28 years after Order 66.  This would explain Skoll’s issues with the Jedi Order, as he was in it before the Clone Wars and would have watched it be corrupted over time.

Is Baylan older than Anakin?

If Baylan is in his mid to late 50s in ‘Ahsoka,’ that would make him roughly five to eight years older than Anakin Skywalker. Not only does Baylan claim to have known Anakin, but he also somehow knows that Anakin became Darth Vader. Anakin was 22 years old when he turned to Darth Vader and died at the age of 45. That would make Baylan approximately 27 to 30 years old during Order 66. This meant he probably did come into contact with Anakin and may have even done a few missions with him during the Clone Wars.

Was Baylan a Jedi Master?

It is very unlikely that Baylan Skoll was a Jedi Master. Most Jedi Masters are over the age of 40, with Obi-Wan being an exception by being in his 30s. Shin Hati is probably Baylan’s first apprentice, as he would have been a Jedi Knight during the war. We know that Shin Hati was not in the Jedi Order and will most likely not have even been born around the time of the Galactic Republic.
