Even though MCU’s television schedule was recently reshuffled, with many upcoming series delayed, and some of them even indefinitely, we still have a handful of MCU content to watch by the end of this year. Apart from ‘Loki’ Season 2, which starts in October, and ‘The Marvels,’ which opens in theaters in November, MCU fans will get to watch the second season of ‘I Am Groot,’ a series of shorts that premiered last year. Everyone’s favorite tree, voiced by Vin Diesel, returns with another five episodes.

Vin Diesel debuted as Groot in 2014’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ written and directed by James Gunn. After the original Groot was killed off in the movie, he was succeeded by Baby Groot, who appeared only in 2017’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,’ before teenage Groot came onto a scene in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ a year later. However, only that one appearance on a big screen ensured that Baby Groot became one of the most beloved MCU characters and a nightmare for every parent whose kid wanted a Baby Groot toy after watching the movie.

‘I Am Groot’ Season 2: Episode Titles and Synopses

Baby Groot returned last year in the first season of ‘I Am Groot,’ an animated series in which Groot is practically the only character (Bradley Cooper guest starred as Rocket Raccoon in the first season, and Jeffrey Wright’s The Watcher will appear in the second season), and we see him in many different adventures and situations. All episodes were written and directed by Kirsten Lepore, and each episode is only six minutes long, credits included.

Ahead of the second season, which will drop on Disney+ in only three days (September 6), all episode titles and synopses have been revealed. Check them all out below:

Episode 201: Are You My Groot?

“Groot stumbles across a strange egg in a nest while exploring the alien planet of Terma. He instantly falls for the little creature that emerges when the egg cracks, adopting it as his own. Also starring Dee Bradley Baker as the voice of all the Terma birds.”

Episode 202: Groot Noses Around

“When Groot discovers a bionic nose-shaped device that grants him a sense of smell, he quickly learns not to stick his new nose where it doesn’t belong. There is a scene with fragrant delights displayed across a banquet table.”

Episode 203: Groot’s Snow Day

“After landing on the icy planet of Falligar, Groot fashions a snowman with scraps of junk, inadvertently creating an unstoppable snowman-robot that wreaks havoc.”

Episode 204: Groot’s Sweet Treat

Vin Diesel, who voiced Groot and Baby Groot in all MCU projects, also provided his voice for multiple dubs in other languages because he only had to say three words since he took the role. And considering that ‘I Am Groot’ is a collection of shorts that isn’t influenced by the MCU’s narrative, this show could, in theory, go on for ten more seasons.

It’s unknown if Vin Diesel will return as Groot in the movies, even though Groot remained a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy after the events of this year’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.’

Created, written, directed, and executive produced by Kirsten Lepore and starring Vin Deisel, five brand-new episodes of ‘I Am Groot’ will drop on Disney+ on September 6, 2023.
