Industry Insider Reveales New Cast & Costume Details For ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’
Fans of Spider-Man have been eagerly waiting for any news about the next movie in the series. Over the past few months, there have been a lot of rumors and hints, but nothing concrete. Now Alex Perez of Cosmic Circus brings some new inside information.
The film will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for his work within the MCU. The movie marks the return of Tom Holland as Peter Parker, a role he hasn’t played since Spider-Man: No Way Home. Fans will also see the return of Zendaya as MJ Watson, who is now Holland’s real-life fiancée.
Two new faces joining the cast are Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas, though their roles are still a mystery. The plot is being kept under wraps, and Marvel Studios has not shared many details. Still, we’ve recently discovered some new hints about what the movie might involve.
One interesting update from pre-production involves the costumes. Sources have revealed that the costume team has been researching Asian-inspired designs, particularly from Japanese Shinobi and Samurai armor. They are focusing on styles from the late Sengoku period and the Edo period (17th century) of Japan.
There’s also word of a new character described as a “dark, mysterious female character” with a unique, Japanese-inspired look. This character’s costume includes a black kimono-style vest with a modern twist, combining elements of techwear and unconventional belt designs.
One insider compared it to Obi-Wan Kenobi’s costume from Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, but all in black. The outfit mixes traditional and futuristic styles, with a katana as part of the ensemble. “It looks like a Star Wars character,” said one source.
The film is set to hit theaters on July 31st, 2026, positioned between the upcoming Marvel movies Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
