News keeps coming out about Deadpool 3 and Wade Wilson’s long-awaited MCU debut. First, it was confirmed that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is returning for an MCU introduction. Then it was rumored but unconfirmed that Miss Minutes and Agent Mobius are having major roles in the film. The latest unconfirmed rumors have Loki joining as well. So, will Loki be in Deadpool 3?

Sources claim that Loki will indeed appear in Deadpool 3, although Marvel Studio, as usual, hasn’t confirmed the rumors officially. No plot details have been brought out as of yet, but it’s safe to assume that Deadpool will slip through the Multiverse and meet Mobius, Loki, or both of them.

For all we know, Deadpool 3 might not even be Deadpool’s MCU introduction. Loki Season 2 is coming out about a year sooner, so who knows? Perhaps we’ll learn more about the plot of Deadpool 3 after Loki Season 2 ties up all the Multiverse storylines. Until then, here’s what we know so far about Loki’s potential involvement in Deadpool 3.

Deadpool 3: What we know so far

We actually don’t know a lot about Deadpool 3. I mean, sure, there are tons of rumors, but only a handful of details have been officially confirmed. For instance, we know the film was slated for release in September 2024 but was then pushed back just a bit to November 8, 2024.

We also know for certain that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is entering the MCU as well, as the following trailer has shown.

We don’t know, however, how exactly that is going to happen. All I know is that it’ll certainly be an epic affair. The pairing of Deadpool and Wolverine, the characters, will be perfect, but the pairing of Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds, the best buddies, will be even better.

The film will mark the third recent collaboration between Ryan Reynolds, and the movie’s director, Shawn Levy, while only one character has been confirmed to return from previous Deadpool films – Leslie Uggams’ Blind Al. Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin will write the story based on Rob Liefeld’s comics.

Apart from that, not much else is official, on the record confirmed about Deadpool 3. The rest of what we have is unofficial rumors from very well-respected, trustworthy sources. Let’s dig into that a bit more.

Who is joining the Deadpool 3 cast?

Deadpool 2 ended with the assembly of the infamous, awesome X-Force, consisting of Deadpool, Domino, Cable, Colossus, and Firefist. And, while none of them except for DP have been confirmed to return, I think it’s safe to assume they won’t just evaporate – we can expect some – if not all – of them to return for the threequel.

Imagine how awesome it would be to have Josh Brolin return to the MCU, not as Thanos, but this time, as Cable. It would open up so many doors for awesome jokes, left and right. I mean, even in Deadpool 2, Wade called Brolin’s time-traveling character Thanos.

That being said, those who stuck around for Deadpool 2 post-credit scenes know that Wilson had already dabbed into the Multiverse – traveling to the universe where he was the Green Lantern to shoot himself in the head, going back and forth in time, etc.

Something like that will certainly get the TVA’s attention, especially after Loki Season 1 broke the Sacred Timeline and opened up the Multiverse. That brings us to some all-but-confirmed rumors about the movie that actually make the most sense.

The kind-of-villainous AI from the TVA, Miss Minutes, will likely have a role in Deadpool 3. Either that or the two characters will meet elsewhere – I’m guessing, the new season of Loki? Whatever the case may be, the rumors about this particular pairing sparked after an interaction between Miss Minutes and Ryan Reynolds on Twitter:

Naturally, this would mean that Wade Wilson is on the TVA’s radar. And, seeing the severity and repetition of his violations, they’d likely send one of their best Agents to deal with DP. Enter Agent Mobius.

That’s right, Owen Wilson might have a role in Deadpool 3 as well. Not just that – some sources suggest that Wilson’s part in the movie will be ‘big’:

So, the TVA – namely, Miss Minutes and Mobius – will almost surely be involved with the film. Does that mean we might expect Loki to appear as well? I would say that would be an amazing idea!

Is Loki going to be in Deadpool 3?

If everything pans out as we hope it will, Loki will absolutely be in Deadpool 3. It’ll be incredibly interesting to see where Loki stands in the MCU by the time Deadpool 3 arrives – especially considering we have a whole season of Loki action ahead of us. That being said, there are several reasons why the pairing could work perfectly.

First of all, it was Loki and Sylvie that opened up the Multiverse in the first place. Loki was sent to an unknown universe where Mobius doesn’t even recognize him. Maybe he’s in DP’s universe now? Even if it’s the other way around, it still works.

Second, and perhaps a bit more irrelevant, is that both characters are described as pansexual in comics. Loki already had his “coming out” moment in the MCU, while Ryan Reynolds said at the 2018 Comic-Con that he’d like to explore Deadpool’s pansexuality in the movies, too.

It’s far-fetched, and it probably won’t happen, but it would certainly do a great service to MCU’s overall inclusivity and representation.

We’ll probably have to wait much, much longer to get any definitive answers on Deadpool 3, but if all these rumors come true, it’ll be an absolutely spectacular film. Deadpool, Wolverine, Cable, Mobius, and Loki, with a big potential of the X-Force coming in hot? That’s an absolute fairytale of a lineup!
