Streamers have a habit of turning up wherever the cameras are rolling, and few do it with as much chaos as IShowSpeed. His livestreams can transform an ordinary city block into a spectacle within minutes. This time, one of those moments appears to have collided with a major Netflix production.

A clip circulating online shows Speed on the set of ‘The Gray Man 2‘, the long-awaited follow-up to the Russo brothers’ spy thriller. The footage has pulled in more than a million views, and it has done something the studio hadn’t: it got people talking about a sequel many viewers seem to have forgotten was in development.

The 40-second video shows Speed streaming on a city street, wearing a plaid shirt and surrounded by a crowd. A large black SUV sits at the curb with security staff standing beside it, and a yellow taxi is visible in the background. A live viewer count and the show’s branding appear on screen, which is typical of his streams.

The caption attached to the clip says he crashed the set of Netflix’s ‘The Gray Man 2’, starring Ryan Gosling and Ana de Armas. The footage itself doesn’t show the stars, and the sources I found don’t describe what happened on set beyond that. That means the details of the encounter are still unclear.

The timing fits with what Speed was doing that week. Complex reported that the 21-year-old streamer held a livestreamed hide-and-seek event across New York City on October 28, offering $250,000 to the first fan who could find him. The event used gradually revealed coordinates and costumed characters stationed across the five boroughs as clues.

That kind of citywide stunt makes a run-in with a film shoot plausible. Big productions regularly take over New York streets, and a streamer moving through the city with a crowd could easily wander into one. Speed is known for treating public spaces as his stage.

The surprise for many viewers isn’t Speed’s appearance but the idea that ‘The Gray Man 2’ is actually moving forward. Netflix announced the sequel in July 2022, shortly after the original topped the streaming charts in dozens of countries. Gosling and directors Joe and Anthony Russo were set to return, with a spinoff also in the works.

Stephen McFeely, who co-wrote the first film, was named as the sequel’s writer, and the spinoff was handed to ‘Deadpool’ writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. A Netflix executive said at the time that the company was excited to keep working with the Russos and their company AGBO as they built out a ‘Gray Man’ universe. Since then, news has been sparse, and online discussion has often asked whether the project was still alive.

The original film, based on Mark Greaney’s novel, stars Gosling as Court Gentry, also known as Sierra Six, alongside Chris Evans and Ana de Armas. It had a reported budget of around $200 million, making it one of the most expensive films Netflix has produced. The story follows a CIA operative hunted by a psychopathic former colleague after he uncovers agency secrets.

Reports about the sequel have been mixed over the years. Early estimates suggested filming could begin in 2024, and the Russos said scheduling around their Avengers work was the main hurdle. At one point, a profile of Gosling indicated he wasn’t in talks to return, though other reports continued to say he was attached.

The stream has done what a marketing campaign might struggle to do. It put the franchise back into conversation, and it’s prompted fans to ask when the film will arrive. For a project that has spent years in the background, that attention could be valuable.

Part of the appeal is the contrast between a polished studio production and a livestreamer’s unpredictable energy. When the two overlap, the result is often funny and a little chaotic. It also reflects how fan culture works now, where a single stream can reveal information that no press release did.

It also hints at how much audiences still care about the story. The first film became one of Netflix’s most-watched, and viewers have been waiting for another mission. A glimpse of the sequel in the wild, even through the lens of a streamer, has been enough to restart the conversation.
