At a comedy show in Los Angeles, Seth Rogen and Jon Stewart openly criticized Kanye West during a live Netflix is a Joke Festival event, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The event took place at the Greek Theatre and was part of Rogen’s special show called “Seth Goes Greek.” Rogen hosted the night and performed alongside several comedians and performers including Nick Kroll, Eric André, Sarah Silverman, Nikki Glaser and others.

Rogen first brought up West during his set while talking about the festival and recent controversy around the rapper’s performances and music.

He said, “He had a song called ‘Heil Hitler’ and he’s back.” Rogen then compared how criticism affects different public figures, suggesting he personally faced more backlash for his own comments than West did.

He said, “What’s funny is I’ve said critical things about Jewish people; I think I got in more trouble than Kanye West did. I got a lot of shit for what I said. I have no number one albums.”

Later in the night, Jon Stewart also talked about West during his own set. His comments came during a broader segment about antisemitism and politics. Stewart said, “fucking Kanye thinks we fucked up his Adidas deal.”

He then directly criticized West’s past comments and behavior, adding, “but seriously, fuck that guy. He was like, ‘Hitler we misunderstood, we’ve got to forgive Hitler.’ And I’m like, I don’t think I need to listen to anybody who thinks Hitler needs to be forgiven but is still mad at Pete Davidson.”

The night was not only focused on West. Stewart also made jokes about other political and cultural topics, including Donald Trump, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and local Los Angeles politics. Sarah Silverman also joined in with her own commentary during her set.

The show was part of Netflix’s large comedy festival happening across Los Angeles. It also raised money for Hilarity for Charity, a nonprofit created by Rogen and his wife Lauren Miller Rogen that supports families affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the event mixed stand-up comedy, music performances, and live sketches, with performers joking about politics, celebrity culture, and current events throughout the night.
