Jonah Hauer-King Talks About the Humor in the ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ Reboot

I Know What You Did Last Summer is a cult slasher franchise, and like many works in recent years, the franchise will now be rebooted with a new cast of characters, but also with a nod to the original franchise.
Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt, respectively, will be reprising their roles as Ray Bronson and Julie James from the first two films, but they will be joined by a plethora of new names as well.
Among them is Jonah Hauer-King, who will be playing the character of Milo in the movie. In a recent talk with the press, Hauer-King revealed a bit more about Milo and praised the movie’s screenplay.
Talking about his character, he said the following: “He’s sweet-natured and he’s got a good heart, and obviously, he gets embroiled in all kinds of events where he’s being asked to do things or make decisions that are really difficult. So, there’s a lot of tension for him to come.”
He also praised the screenplay co-written by director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and Sam Lansky, claiming that the whole story feels fresh and that the atmosphere will combine horror and humor, which could provide the audience with more interesting moments.
“I think the joy of this one is that, as you probably have heard, Freddie [Prinze Jr.] and Jen [Love Hewitt] are coming back. There’s some great continuity from the original,” he said. “It’s about 30 years later, and a lot of the vibe is there, but I think also with the new young cast and with Jen Kaytin Robinson, the director, there’s definitely humor in there. There’s definitely a modern sensibility, and it feels fresh.”
