“Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent” is going through a cast shake-up ahead of its fourth season. According to Variety, actor Luke Kirby is joining the series, while Aden Young is leaving his role as Detective Sergeant Henry Graff. The change marks a new direction for the show as it continues to build its next chapter.

Kirby will play Detective Sergeant John Darcy. His character is being brought in from Guns & Gangs to work alongside Detective Sergeant Frankie Bateman, played by Kathleen Munroe, in the homicide unit. The new role is expected to shift team dynamics as the series moves forward.

Executive producer Tassie Cameron spoke about the casting choice. She said, “From the moment we began imagining this next chapter, Luke stood out as the ideal choice. He brings a sharp intelligence and emotional depth that perfectly aligns with the kind of storytelling ‘Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent’ is known for. His work is grounded, unpredictable, and deeply character-driven, which makes Detective Darcy an immediate and fascinating presence on our team. We’re incredibly excited to welcome him to the series.”

Alongside Kirby and Munroe, Season 4 will also feature Karen Robinson, K.C. Collins, Nicola Correia-Damude, and Araya Mengesha. Production is currently underway, and the new season is expected to premiere this fall on Citytv.

The series is produced by Lark Productions and Cameron Pictures Inc. in association with Universal International Studios and Citytv. It is based on the original “Law & Order” format created by Dick Wolf and developed by René Balcer.
