Limited Edition ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Funko Pops of Professor X and Mystique Surface Ahead of November Release
Marvel merchandise is already running at full speed ahead of ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’ Funko has turned the film into one of its biggest Marvel collections in years, covering heroes, villains and mutants from across the multiverse. A new set of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Funko Pops has now appeared online, and it features two of the franchise’s most recognizable X-Men characters.
The film arrives in theaters on December 18, and the toy aisles are filling up well before then. The main Funko wave landed earlier this month, with retailers including Target and Entertainment Earth and the Funko store all carrying figures. The line spans everything from standard Pops to Bitty Pops, die-cast collectibles and playsets.
The latest news centers on limited edition releases. Leaked artwork shows a Professor X Pop and a Mystique Pop, each with its own retail exclusive and a tight production run. Funko has not yet officially announced either figure, so the details come from packaging images rather than a press release.

The Professor X figure shows the mutant leader seated in his wheelchair, dressed in a dark outfit with his signature bald head and stern expression. The packaging lists it as a Target exclusive limited to 9,500 pieces. The leaked date is November 8.
The release carries extra weight. Patrick Stewart, who plays Professor Charles Xavier in the film, died on October 28 and is set to appear posthumously in ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’ For many fans, the figure will serve as a keepsake of one of his best-known roles.
The Mystique figure leans into the character’s classic look. It features her blue, textured skin, bright red hair and yellow eyes, along with a white outfit and a skull-topped headpiece. It is listed as an Amazon exclusive limited to 5,000 pieces, arriving on November 25.
With only 5,000 made, Mystique is the scarcer of the two. Both numbers are small by Funko standards, which suggests the figures could sell out quickly once they go on sale. As with any leak, collectors should wait for official confirmation before making plans.
Retail exclusives have become central to Funko’s strategy for the film. Target already carries a Doctor Doom with Franklin set and a Bucky Barnes figure, Entertainment Earth offers a numbered Nightcrawler exclusive, and Walmart has Beast. The Funko store has its own Lord Doom exclusive.
The broader collection includes a die-cast Doctor Doom priced at $49.99, with a chrome chase variant at a 1-in-6 ratio. A bundle priced at $89.94 includes Magneto, Thor, Mister Fantastic, Cyclops, Doctor Doom and Yelena, plus a mystery variant. Prices across the line range from $2.99 to $49.99.
The toy lineup mirrors the film’s crossover ambitions. ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ brings together the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, Wakandans and the original X-Men to face Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr. The Pops read almost like a checklist of who matters in that collision.
The Bitty Pop line also leans into the X-Men, with 2-packs and 4-packs featuring Magneto, Cyclops, Professor X and others. Together, the full-size and mini figures give collectors several ways to build a shelf display before the movie arrives.

Earlier this week, a separate first look showed a limited edition Professor X and Red Guardian pairing, with an edition size of 9,500 for each. It is unclear how that listing relates to the new Professor X image, and Funko has not detailed whether there are multiple versions. That leaves some uncertainty over exactly which retailer releases will come together.
Collectors should also keep in mind that an earlier leaked image of supposed Doomsday Pops circulated back in January and was later confirmed to be fake. The new artwork looks more consistent with Funko’s current packaging, but official word is still pending.
The key dates to mark are November 8 for the Professor X Pop and November 25 for the Mystique Pop. Because the figures are retailer exclusives, they will likely sell through only at Target and Amazon, respectively. Fans who want one should keep an eye out for official listings and pre-order windows.
