Marvel Announces Black Cat Solo Series, Releasing This Summer

Felicia Hardy, also known as the Black Cat, has been one of Marvel’s most popular female characters in recent years. A recurring antagonist in Spider-Man comics, Black Cat is a complex character who has been portrayed as a villainess, heroine or even an antiheroine.
And while Black Cat is not in the focus of Spider-Man comics, she will be this summer, as Marvel has confirmed a solo series for the character.
In this report, we are going to confirm all the information we have, at this point, about the upcoming Black Cat solo series, whose first issue is going to debut this August, which is very close.
The series will come to us by superstar writer G. Willow Wilson (MS. MARVEL) and rising star Gleb Melnikov (AMAZING SPIDER-MAN), and the first issue is currently set for an August 20, 2025 release. Marvel has released the main cover, as well as some alternative covers, which you can check out here:
The story will see Felicia become a superhero, allegedly, as the whole world has been turned upside down following a recent clash with Spider-Man. Now, Black Cat has decided to turn over a new leaf and tackle the villains of New York City. Her first target is the Lizard, but her actions will soon attract Kingpin’s attention as well.
“As soon as SPIDER-MAN: BLACK SUIT & BLOOD dropped and people saw the Black Cat story, readers began to ask me, ‘When are you going to write more Felicia?’ Well, the answer is: right now. Black Cat is so much fun to work with. She’s a supporting character with main character energy. And she has such a rich history that there are tons of tantalizing story threads to pull on,” Wilson said in a statement.
Whetever Felicia’s ultimate goal is, it seems we’re in for an exciting series!
