The ongoing ‘Multiverse Saga‘ of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has spawned a lot of sequels for the movies that premiered during the ‘Infinity Saga,’ but to keep the fresh touch, Phases 4, 5, and 6 of the MCU still needed brand-new movies that would introduce new characters to carry this franchise in the future. So, that’s why we got movies like ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ and ‘Eternals,’ which introduced characters that were mainly unknown to the mainstream audience.

Don’t get us wrong. It’s great that MCU fans unfamiliar with the source material are meeting less-known Marvel characters on the big screen. But it’s also a good thing that MCU will finally bring some better-known characters to the MCU for the first time. We’re talking about Blade and Fantastic Four, the characters that we previously watched on the big screen but long before Marvel Cinematic Universe even existed.

After 2005’s original movie and 2015’s first reboot (which we’re all trying to forget), Marvel’s first family will be rebooted again for the purpose of introduction in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The project was first announced in December 2020, with Jon Watts set to direct. Watts eventually left the project, and ‘WandaVision’ director Matt Shakman signed to replace him, but the official cast still hasn’t been revealed.

Marvel: Newest Leaks Suggest ‘Fantastic Four’ Cast Has Been Decided

Marvel Studios reportedly found the cast for the ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot, but there’s one big issue!

The casting process for the upcoming ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot has been ongoing for quite a while, and although Marvel Studios never provided any official statements, there’s been a lot of rumors about actors that the studio negotiated with. Recently we learned that Marvel Studios reportedly closed the deal with Adam Driver, Margot Robbie, Paul Mescal, and Daveed Diggs to star as the four members of Marvel’s first family.

However, according to @MarvelsContent, Marvel Studios is now reconsidering this rumored cast due to the fact that these actors are too expensive. A-list actors like Driver, who starred in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, and Robbie, who starred as Harley Quinn in the DC Extended Universe, are very popular in Hollywood, and they surely don’t need to worry about their careers in the future. But that’s a double-edged sword for the studio that wants to have big names in its movies but doesn’t want to pay the actors as much as it should, considering the reputation and portfolio of those actors.

In their careers so far, Adam Driver and Margot Robbie have been nominated for two Academy Awards each. That automatically makes them more expensive, and Marvel would surely need to pay Driver more for the role of Reed Richards than Lucasfilm paid him for the role of Kylo Ren. Paul Mescal has been nominated for the Academy Award this year, and he’s set to star in Ridley Scott’s ‘Gladiator 2,’ while Daveed Diggs has been nominated for one Primetime Emmy Award for his role in ‘Hamilton.’ So, we surely aren’t talking about some cheap actors. Not to mention that starring in the ‘Fantastic Four’ movie surely won’t be a one-time thing, and it asks the studio to think ahead for potential sequels and crossover movies.

We need to keep in mind how Marvel Studios was previously known for hiring less-known actors, and the roles in Marvel movies would eventually turn those actors into worldwide stars. The thing is, since they became the biggest movie franchise ever, Marvel Studios’ appetite for A-list actors has grown, which we could have seen in the ‘Eternals’ movie that featured A-list stars like Angeline Jolie, Salma Hayek, and ‘Game of Thrones’ stars Kit Harington and Richard Madden. But the movie still received a lukewarm response from critics and fans.

The cast for the upcoming ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot wasn’t revealed officially yet, so Marvel Studios will need to cross every T and dot every I before they make the official announcement. We would all love to see popular actors in upcoming Marvel movies, but we know how the studio thinks; they want to make a lot of money with the least possible amount of money invested. The actor salaries have grown abnormally in the last few years, and they take a huge amount of the movie’s proposed budget, so we need to wait and see what Kevin Feige will decide in the end. We can’t wait for some official news about this movie.

Directed by Matt Shakman, ‘Fantastic Four’ is set to be released on February 14, 2025.
