The Marvel Cinematic Universe is known for its tangled release schedule. That means the moment one project gets delayed, you can count that most of them will be pushed back as well. We still remember all the delays that were caused by the pandemic of COVID-19 in 2020.
Now, three years later, Marvel Studios did another huge reshuffle of their release schedule. And while one movie has been moved up in the schedule, all the others have been pushed back. As we know, Marvel Studios is under the ownership of the Walt Disney Company. Therefore, not only MCU movies suffered delays but also movies set in other big Disney franchises, such as Star Wars and Avatar.
‘Deadpool 3’ is moved up! Both ‘Avengers’ movies are delayed!
The only good news out of this new release schedule is that ‘Deadpool 3’ will arrive earlier than expected. The anticipated threequel that will bring back Ryan Reynolds’s Merch with a Mouth and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine has been moved from November 2024 to May 3, 2024. That release date was previously set for ‘Captain America: Brave New World.’ You can see the entire new schedule below:
- ‘Deadpool 3’ — from November 2024 to May 3, 2024
- ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ — from May 2024 to July 26, 2024
- ‘Thunderbolts’ — from July 2024 to December 20, 2024
- ‘Blade’ — from September 2024 to February 14, 2025
- ‘Fantastic Four’ — from February 2025 to May 2, 2025
- ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’ — from May 2025 to May 1, 2026
- ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ — from May 2026 to May 7, 2027
With this new schedule, the fourth ‘Avengers’ movie will now arrive exactly seven years after the premiere of ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ and since ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ is set to conclude MCU’s Multiverse Saga, that means Phase 6 will conclude six years after it officially began with the ‘WandaVision’ series.
Some of these dates seem really far away, and it’s kind of crazy to think that MCU will be 19 years old by the time ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ hits theaters.
