Marvel TV Exec Teases ‘Ghost Rider’ Disney+ Series & Reveals Which Rider the Show Would Likely Follow

Ghost Rider is one of the most popular Marvel characters, the character had movies long before MCU was a thing. Even without actively reading comics, or being a fan of superhero media just about anyone knows who Ghost Rider is or what he looks like.

This makes it all the stranger that the character hasn’t been utilized in the MCU yet. Robbie Reyes did appear in ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,’ but that show has a complicated relationship with MCU canon, and as far as we know he is not considered canon to the MCU.

In the last year or so, there have been plenty of rumors that the Ghost Rider movie or a TV show is in development, alongside ‘Midnight Sons’ project. Nothing has been confirmed by the execs but we already started fan casting Ryan Gosling in the role, and he confirmed that he would like to play the role.

Now we finally have something concrete as Brad Windebarum, Marvel Studios’ Head of TV, Streaming, and Animation, confirmed for Collider that Ghost Rider would be one show that he would immediately green light without too much consideration.

Winderbaum also revealed that the Ghost Rider he would like to follow is Danny Ketch.

Given your fan-first approach to this, I’m curious to hear your answer to this question. If you could snap your fingers right now and green-light the series of your choice, what would it be and why?

WINDERBAUM: I would wanna do the Danny Ketch era of Ghost Rider. I think there are a lot of people who would be here for some Ghost Rider.

Ghost Rider’s chances of getting a project have never been higher. As I’ve already mentioned there’s been much talk regarding the potential ‘Midnight Sons’ project. There’s also the fact that ‘Agatha All Along’ teased plenty of characters important for Ghost Rider such as Mephisto, Blackheart, and even Jennifer Kale.

We also recently covered how following the end of Multiversal Saga, the MCU will focus a bit more on the supernatural side of the MCU, which Ghost Rider is a part of, and we can’t wait to be there for the ride.
