‘Masters of the Universe’ Director and Nicholas Galitzine Break Down the Two End-Credits Scenes
Masters of the Universe is now playing in theaters, and it includes two end-credits scenes that set up what could come next for the franchise. Director Travis Knight, speaking in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, explained what both scenes mean and how they connect to possible future stories. He also revealed that one of the scenes almost did not make it into the final version of the movie because of production problems.
The film follows Prince Adam of Eternia, played by Nicholas Galitzine, who grows up on Earth far away from his home world and the threat of Skeletor, played by Jared Leto. By the end of the movie, Adam has fully stepped into his role as He-Man after defeating Skeletor and helping restore peace to Eternos. But even with that victory, the story does not fully close.
In the first post-credits scene, Duncan, also known as Man-at-Arms and played by Idris Elba, stands with Queen Marlena, played by Charlotte Riley. They are looking over a rebuilt Eternos after the destruction caused by Skeletor’s rule. The city is slowly returning to normal, but the emotional weight of everything that happened is still there.
Queen Marlena says she has lost hope of ever reuniting her family. Duncan tries to lift her spirits and says, “perhaps one day she’ll come back to us too.” The moment hints at something fans of the franchise have been waiting for: the possible introduction of Princess Adora, also known as She-Ra.
The scene then cuts to a mysterious woman seen only from behind. She has long blonde hair, a red cape, and holds a glowing sword. The film does not confirm her identity on screen, but it strongly suggests the arrival of She-Ra.
In the original Masters of the Universe lore, Adora is the twin sister of Prince Adam. She was kidnapped as a baby and raised on another planet called Etheria by the villain Hordak. Eventually, she learns the truth about her past and becomes She-Ra, a powerful warrior who fights against evil forces.
Travis Knight explained that including She-Ra in the film was complicated. According to Entertainment Weekly, he said, “Mattel created the character, but it’s a little bit like Marvel in the ’90s, how some of that stuff is carved out all over the place, and so it was a complicated rights issue. And so we could use her, [then] we couldn’t use her. She was in the movie, she was out of the movie. We always held tight to like, hopefully we could have her in there and we wrote the scene in such a way that it was modular, that we could use it if we got the chance and if we couldn’t.”

He also shared that the scene was added very late in production. He said there was very little budget left, and the crew had to quickly build a set using whatever materials they could find. Even with those challenges, they managed to film the sequence in just a few hours.
Knight added that if a sequel happens, She-Ra will have a major role in the story.
The second end-credits scene focuses on Evil-Lyn, played by Alison Brie. She returns to recover what remains of Skeletor after his defeat. The film teases his possible return, with Knight confirming that Skeletor is not immortal, but still open to coming back in future stories.
Together, both scenes clearly set up new directions for the franchise, while leaving the door open for bigger conflicts ahead.
