Matt Reeves has started slowly revealing the cast of β€œThe Batman – Part 2” in a creative way, using social media posts that reference scenes and characters from the first film.

The updates were shared by director Matt Reeves on X on May 14. Instead of posting a normal cast list, he used GIFs from β€œThe Batman” (2022) and added short, personal messages for each returning actor.

Each post was written like a small greeting to the characters, making the reveal feel more like a conversation than an announcement. Reeves first addressed Robert Pattinson, who plays Bruce Wayne, with the message β€œWe meet again, my friend.”

He then posted for Jeffrey Wright, who plays Jim Gordon, writing β€œHere we go again, my friend.” After that, he shared a message for Andy Serkis, who returns as Alfred Pennyworth, saying β€œAre you ready, my friend…?”

The director continued with more cast members. Colin Farrell, who plays Oz Cobb, received the message β€œRound two, my friend…?” while Jayme Lawson, who plays Bella ReΓ‘l, was welcomed back with β€œWelcome back to the fight, my friend.” Reeves also posted a short message for Gil Perez-Abraham, writing β€œHey! Mr. Martinez!”

After the first wave of reveals, Reeves told fans that more announcements would come the next day. He posted β€œMore… tomorrow…” teasing further updates.

The sequel already has some confirmed and rumored casting news. Sebastian Stan has already confirmed his involvement, while names like Scarlett Johansson and Charles Dance have also been mentioned in early speculation.

β€œThe Batman – Part 2” was first teased earlier with a Batmobile test image shared by Reeves. The film is expected to take place in a winter setting and continues the darker tone of the first movie.

The project is set to begin filming in June, with Mattson Tomlin co-writing the script alongside Reeves. The movie will be released under DC Studios’ Elseworlds label, meaning it exists outside the main DC Universe storyline being developed by James Gunn.

Warner Bros. has scheduled β€œThe Batman – Part 2” for release on October 1, 2027. Reeves’ slow reveal strategy has kept fans engaged, with more casting updates expected soon.
