Michael Keaton on His Role in Morbius They Couldnt Quite Explain it

It’s been only a few weeks since ‘Madame Web’ was released and the box office as well as the reception don’t look good at all. This is what led many critics and fans alike to draw parallels with ‘Morbius’ a movie so bad it’s good, and whose popularity depended solely on the fact that it gave rise to numerous popular memes and catchphrases the most notable being “It’s Morbin’ time.”

In fact the movie was so hilariously received that Sony re-released it in Theaters. The viewers were not the only ones confused with the ‘Morbius’ however as some actors now, two years after release are looking back at their role and thinking “What was that about.”

Josh Horowitz had the pleasure of discussing ‘Morbius’ with Keaton (among many other things) and Keaton admitted that he had no idea what he was doing in the movie, and the filmmakers couldn’t explain it as well.

Michael Keaton played Adrian Toomes, aka The Vulture, in MCU. He first appeared in 2017’s ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming.’ Recently, he returned for a cameo, causing confusion among fans, and even Keaton himself due to the lack of clarity about his character’s connection to the wider Marvel universe & SSU. Some speculated the cameo was going to lead to the ‘Sinister Six’ film, but there hasn’t been any official confirmation of the project as far as SSU goes.

When asked what the role was about and what it was leading to Keaton had some interesting things to say.

No. No Idead. None. Zero. I mean you know they said okay, and even they couldn’t quite explain it.

Keaton explained that they tried to explain to him what was cameo was about and what was going to happen but it was too complicated to comprehend, but he ultimately accepted the role and made his peace with it. Keaton also took a moment to reflect on Jared Leto and his method acting in ‘Morbius’

He’s such an interesting dude you know like in the scene you know. He’s very nice toward the end. But the minute I showed up I said “Oh I get what he’s doing. I’m gonna steer clear.”

Honestly, Keaton’s experience with ‘Morbius’ and Leto’s method acting sounds like something that we would totally expect.
