‘Moana 2’ Tops Streaming Charts as ‘Adolescence,’ ‘The Electric State,’ and ‘Kraven the Hunter’ Join the Race

Moana 2 had a big first week on Disney+, becoming the most-watched movie in the U.S. for the week of March 10–16, according to Nielsen. The film was streamed for almost 2 billion minutes, making it the biggest single-week total for any movie on a streaming platform in 2025 so far.
The original Moana has been the most streamed movie in the U.S. for the past two years. Now, it looks like its sequel could take that title this year. The first Moana movie also returned to the top 10, with 223 million minutes of viewing after being out of the rankings for two weeks.
A few other movies also did well. Netflix’s The Electric State, starring Millie Bobby Brown, reached 1.18 billion minutes watched and ranked third overall. Kraven the Hunter, another Netflix release, had 911 million minutes and placed eighth.
Netflix’s new series Adolescence also had a strong debut. It came in ninth overall and was the second most popular original series, with 907 million minutes watched in its first week after launching on March 13.
Reacher stayed strong as the top original series with 1.31 billion minutes. It’s been watched over a billion minutes for four weeks in a row. Prime Video also had two other shows in the top 10 originals: Invincible with 587 million minutes, and The Wheel of Time with 534 million.
On other platforms, The White Lotus (949 million minutes on Max) and 1923, the Yellowstone prequel (833 million minutes on Paramount+), both hit their highest viewing totals yet. Severance on Apple TV+ also stayed in the top 10 for the ninth week, with 586 million minutes.
It’s important to note that Nielsen’s numbers only count viewing on TVs in the U.S. They do not include time spent watching on phones, tablets, or computers, and do not measure audiences in other countries.
Looks like Moana 2 is off to a magical start!
