The end of Outer Banks is getting closer, but Netflix is giving fans one more way to enjoy the world of the Pogues before saying goodbye.

Netflix has announced Outer Banks: The Official Podcast, a new companion series created to celebrate the upcoming fifth and final season of the hit adventure drama. The announcement comes shortly after the release of the final season trailer, which left fans with plenty of questions about what will happen to John B, Sarah, Kiara, Pope, Cleo, and the rest of the group.

The official podcast will premiere on August 20, 2026, the same day the final season arrives on Netflix. The series will include six episodes and will be hosted by Ria Ciuffo, a longtime Outer Banks fan and co-host of Chicks in the Office.

According to Netflix, the podcast will give fans a closer look at the show’s journey, featuring conversations with the cast members who brought the Pogues to life. The episodes will focus on the characters, major story moments, and the behind-the-scenes experiences from five seasons of the series.

The first five episodes will feature individual interviews with the main cast. Ciuffo will sit down with Chase Stokes, who plays John B, Madelyn Cline, who plays Sarah Cameron, Madison Bailey, who plays Kiara Carrera, Jonathan Daviss, who plays Pope Heyward, and Carlacia Grant, who plays Cleo Anderson.

Each episode will explore the actors’ experiences with their characters and their memories from working on the show. Fans can expect personal stories and reflections about some of the biggest moments from the series.

The final episode of the podcast will bring the cast together for a special farewell. Netflix says the episode will include conversations between Chase Stokes and Jonathan Daviss, as well as Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, and Carlacia Grant as they look back on their five-season journey.

The podcast will be available in both video and audio formats. Fans will be able to watch the full video episodes on Netflix, while audio versions will be available on platforms including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other podcast services.

The launch is part of a major farewell celebration for Outer Banks. Netflix is also hosting a fan event called Pogues For Life: A Fan Farewell Event in Los Angeles on August 15. The event will include a cast Q&A, a special fan-voted “Pogue Awards,” and an early screening of the final season premiere. The event will also be livestreamed worldwide through Tudum.com.

The fifth season will pick up after the emotional events of Season 4, with the Pogues facing their biggest challenges yet. After losing JJ in Morocco, the group is left dealing with new threats while searching for a way forward. With enemies like Chandler Groff, Dalia, and the Corsairs still after them, the final chapter promises to be the most intense one yet.

The official podcast gives fans a chance to revisit the series while experiencing its final episodes. With the last season, a fan event, and now a behind-the-scenes podcast, Netflix is making sure the Pogues receive a memorable goodbye.

For fans who have followed the treasure hunts, friendships, and adventures from the beginning, Outer Banks: The Official Podcast will be another way to celebrate the final ride.
