New Updated Disney Release Slate Shows Which Marvel Shows To Expect in 2024

Bob Iger recently announced that the studio plans on reducing its creative output and that the fans can expect 2 or 3 movies per year in addition to 2 shows. This is a response to the catastrophic year that’s left Disney as the biggest box-office loser, having the most movies on the list.

The new release schedule is seemingly already kicking in, with ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ being the only movie to release this year. But this most likely has more to do with last year’s SAG-AFTRA strike than a change in direction.

New updated Disney schedule doesn’t reflect these changes however, as we still have plenty of Marvel content to look forward to. The first show to arrive on the streaming service is ‘Hit Monkey’ season 2, it arrives on Disney+ on July 15th. Even though it’s not under the MCU umbrella, the show has plenty of fans and it’s known as one of the best Marvel-based animated shows currently.

‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries’ likewise is set to arrive this year, however, the release date is still unknown, with everything pointing in the direction that it’s going to be released around Fall, just in time for Halloween. Recent rumors claim that marketing materials and the trailer are already being prepared.

‘Eyes of Wakanda’ animated show also arrives this year. The show was relatively recently announced. It’s supposed to be an anthology series documenting Wakanda’s history and its heroes as they track down vibranium artifacts. The show will reportedly consist of 4 episodes.

The last Marvel-based show on the schedule is ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man,’ the premiere date was confirmed for November 2, 2024. It’s going to focus on young Spider-Man.

There’s been talk that ‘What If…?’ Season 3 will likewise be released this year, but as of now that’s not happening. As you can see, 2024 will be the year of animated content for Marvel Studios.

Fans of the Star Wars franchise can look forward to ‘Star Wars: The Acolyte,’ arriving on June 4th, 2024, and ‘Star Wars: The Skeleton Crew’ arriving around Christmas time.
